or if they're injured

I remember seeing a highlight of one grubb afl player hitting one that was injured on his arm. now how people can watch that cat game is beyond me.

almost as big of a joke than watching soccer these days having players cry on the ground like girls for a foul/penalty

I think you're referring to this. Blondie has a broken collarbone from memory.

And they have the hide to call our game thugby. That kind of blantant thuggery would never be tolerated on a league field. His mates wouldn't have stood for it.

Want to be careful this doesn't devolve into fight club territory though. We should keep it about the good things in league imo.

Its about time we have a thread about why our beloved code is the best ever. I am personally sick of reading the words of a growing legion of paranoid f*ckwits whose chant generally follows the same old path about the code dying - we must do what other codes do or we are doomed.

Let me tell you that there is a reason why the intellectual cream of our nation, and like minded genii from NZ, PNG and England, follow Rugby League. It is simply because we didnt follow the stupid decsions of other codes like sheep.

In another code, some moron decided it was a great thing to have 2 extra forwards who can jump on everyone after each tackle and see who gets the ball.

Another decided it was easier to simply run across the try line, and easier to throw it to a bloke standing in goal. How f*cking stupd is that?

Yet another code decided it was a great idea to use fishing nets, and pretend that hands dint exist. That one was obviously the result of opium sniffing.

And yet another one decided it was thrilling to dress in your sisters undies and fumble the ball toward a series of sticks, where you can elect how many points you want by kicking them through certain pairs. That combined opium sniffing with 6 generations of inbreeding obviously!

Australia is the lucky country. Lucky that we are blessed with brains. And the masses are slowly seeing things our way. That's wh we are the only code in the country that can sell out stadia for club, interstate and national games. All the little episodes of decision making, from Dally Messengers decision to play for Easts, to the Origin concept, to the 6 tackle rule down to the genius who invented the play the ball. These things have sewn intelligence into our DNA.

We have tailored a game perfect for this country, and perfect for others. Nate Smith and Brian Carney saw it. So have millions of others.

So lets ignore the whinging crap. In one sentence, give one reason you believe makes league King.

Mine: I love the chip and chase and when the halfback gets flattened - a la Sterlings try saving high shot on Mortimer in the 86 decider.

Next...............

The world is made up of 99% sheep and assholes be it Sport,Religion, fashion, food etc.
And if there not following what all the other jerks think there following then there hell bent on destroying our beautiful planet.Show you what I mean like that all american great actor Tom Hanks supports Aston Villa because he thought it was some Spanish team and liked the name...merkin and Bin Laden supported Chelsea, the EPL is just a league of thick chavs and Arabs,Russians and dodgy far east gangsters.

Nothing beats a classic covering tackle by a forward on a back (ie Raper and Sattler) or a great front row battler (Carrol and Harragon)

Its like someone turned chess into a hard mans sport. The irony is the most revered players are the queens.

It's resilience. For years, media, Yawnion fans, AFL fans etc have been sounding the death knoll for our code, yet year after year it goes from strength to strength. Some of the trials and tribulations RL has gone through (especially over the last 15 years or so) would have just about killed any other code.

Working class roots, toughness and skill combined, free flowing play, state v state...this is why it is the best sport on earth IMO.

Big Hits, brutal body-on-body shoulder charges.

No pussy rules about it like in union as well as their super incentive to go to ground to present the ball as soon as you even look like getting tackled. And don't get me started on the excuse for a tackle that you find in AFL. Oh, and no strapping pillows on yourself to run at each other like American/Canadian football.

RL is the only sport that can send the entire state of Queensland into abject misery. Conversely, it is the only sport that can get the entire state of NSW on a high.
