Bradford are a sleeping giant with a proud RL histroy as well as strong amateur and grassroots setup within the city and surrounding area.

also the city of Bradford proper has a population nearing 400k and 550k within the Bradford metropolitan region.

In Australia we call that size town Newcastle …. When are you going to have a properly supported team in London that has 10 million ? I know it’s a long way away from the heartland of the game… 200 miles…but you’ve had 130 years to get there…

Also … I hear another sport - cricket, might be a bit popular with the locals in Bradford these days?

give me a city like Bradford with a population of 500k+ with an actual RL footprint than a city of 10 million+ that doesn’t give 2 f#cks about the game every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

not sure about cricket but like every city and town in England football(soccer) is very popular in Bradford.

Not quite sure about that unless it was back in early 2010’s.

ideally you’d use for opportunity of putting big French cities in the UK game like Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux or even Paris and leave the smaller town sides in elite1&2 competitions.

None of those big cities will get support for league. You'd need wealthy backer willing to keep it alive like Toronto.

I think what he was getting at are the demographic changes that have stemmed from the UKs disasterous immigration policies. The population is more likely to identify with your avatar nowadays than with RLs long and proud history in Bradford or anything traditionally English.

That’s exactly why the NRL needs to put money into it.

NRL money and expertise would transform the game immeasurably benefiting all concerned.

London is one place where NRL will put resources and seek investors. Viewership for league in south is surprisingly high and city has been hosting league games forever. Other cities like Sheffield aren't worth the effort unless billionaire will fund.

I tell ya… if the NRL were running it, they would be prioritising London over another team in the north …but it should have been done and prioritised like 75 years ago…
You guys are both right

London has been in super league for decades previously

Crowds of 5k dropped to 3k

They’ve tried brigend (wales) Sheffield Paris and Gateshead

But Toronto could’ve worked if they weren’t so insular

I hope the NRL doesn’t put a cent into it then … it’s a lost cause
I'd love to see an NRL conference salvaged our of the ashes of the Superleague. There are some viable clubs that have good supporter bases. Take 6 strong English clubs and 2 French clubs and form an NRL Europe conference.

Home and away season and then the top one or two join an NRL finals series.
