Couple of points
1. Storm have had over $300million of nrl funding in that time, plus another $100mill from their owners.

You have said this several times ……Explain this nrl funding ? Is this the same funding the other teams get… most of which gets spent paying players ? Not sure how that alone does much to build a culture or brand …it’s certainly no advantage over your competitors ..

It goes a very long way to giving the club the funds it needs to build. A successful club, market it to the heathens, create a game day fans want to be part of etc etc

I’m sure if a SL club in London was funded to the tune of $400mill over 27 years it would also be a decent rugby league club In a soccer mad city.

And they compete in the most parochial sports city in the world who have nine teams in their cult competition lined up against them …

I say this once again - if they can succeed there, then it’s possible for any team to succeed anywhere
Yes with $400 million spent in a City of 6 million it sure is!

Wrong
The $300m ( which is a likely overstated figure) jpaid by the NRL you refer to has been paid over 30 years to all NRL teams primarily for the purposes of paying players …it’s only in very recent years more money has been paid beyond the salary cap…

The money given in excess of the salary cap is more likely to be spent on coaches and junior development ..not on marketing or game day experience

looks like we have reached the stage of the debate when one of your claims gets shot down but you just ignore the r response and keep repeating your false claim over and over

Over 30 years most of which has been used to pay players… how much has been spent by the ESL teams over that period including player payments ?

You’re fixation on money does nothing to address my point - the AFL in Melbourne is a much tougher nut to crack than what the ESL is up against

if throwing money at a sporting club alone determined popularity and success … the GWS Giants would be a super club by now

It’s kind of a wash

they both have similar number of pro clubs per person

around 550k

the issue with expansion in England is they’ve never had money to put into it

if they did then sure Newcastle Liverpool Manchester Sheffield would work

even union gets like 6k crowds for sale in Salford and Newcastle which isn’t bad for non rugby cities

If the numbers are similar…one has success and the other one doesn’t…. You know as well as anyone the fanaticism of the fumblers in Melbourne

So why is the NRL even considering getting involved then?

The NRL either sees the potential for so far unrealised growth or more likely they are starting to sniff their own farts and think they can turn water into wine like the News Ltd media says
