Well,

He did it again, this bloke is a complete and utter dog.

OK, there wasn't that much in it, but did he have to go in with the knees?

F*ck me.

Soward was targeted everytime he got caught with the pill.
Something that he's going to get more & more often as the semis approach.

He handled himself pretty well, but with J. Smith & Costigan coming back - Matai won't want to get caught dropping his knees again, otherwise, the next thing dropping - will be his chin on the turf.

Yep, he is a grub! He is looking at 2 weeks out for his dog act yesterday. Not a bad result for the budgies from brookvale, two weeks for dropping the knees and breaking another blokes jaw in two weeks.

It may be enough to help keep them out of the 8 but the bottom of the current 8 better lift their game. Seeing many miss the semis by 1 point on for and against would see me grinning and be exactly what they deserve

given his track record, getting 1 week for a knee is pretty poor from the judiciary... the 1 week for the grapple is fair enough, as it's his first grapple.

however, there was some justice in the fact he kneed his own team mate in the back of the head, which took most of the impact off jamie...

and kudos to jamie as well - you could see when the knee occured he was in pain, he could have stayed down for ages but didn't..

Sometimes I watch a player carry on with sh!t on the field and it doesn't worry me as it can be a tactic to put off the opposition players, but some blokes are just dead set f*cking grubs, and I rate Matai very highly in that class.
What he does is no more than thuggery of the lowest kind, as on most occasions the player has his back turned or isn't expecting his f*cking head to be knocked off.
A total piece of sh!t.

the NRL employ a match review committee to have a look at any contentious events that have occured over the weekend.

this committee reviewed both cases, and the result?

  • mattai - 2 week suspension.
  • soward - no case to answer.
mr casper, if you cannot accept this fact, and continue to try and sully the name of someone who has been cleared of all charges, may i kindly suggest you utilise the following machine.

Manly centre Steve Matai handed two-game ban for dangerous contact

July 14, 2009 Manly centre Steve Matai has been handed a two-match ban by the NRL judiciary after taking early guilty pleas to two separate charges of dangerous conduct.
The hard-hitting New Zealand international was charged with using his knees in a tackle on St George Illawarra five-eighth Jamie Soward and also with a grapple tackle on the same player in the Sea Eagles' 48-18 loss to the Dragons on Sunday.

Matai will miss the defending premiers' clash with Cronulla at Toyota Stadium on Saturday and the round-20 encounter against Newcastle.

Dragons hooker Nathan Fien also pleaded guilty to a high-tackle charge from the same game but will not spend any time on the sidelines with the offence carrying only 56 penalty points.

The NRL match review committee viewed Channel 9 footage of the incident yesterday but needed confirmation of the bite by Ballin to charge Soward. Ballin refused to answer any questions on the drama, and Soward escaping a serious contrary conduct charge.

:D have a nice day...
