Cayless was only suspended for three weeks - he would have been eligible for the Grand Final had we made it in 2002. He was eligible becuase he was selected on the Kiwi tour I believe.

As trial games are not official I don't think they can be used as a "game" for suspension. Hindy will probably be eligible in Round 2 now.

The team that should be selected on form:

1. Minichiello
2. Geyer
3. Girdler
4. De Vere
5. Sing
6. Campbell
7. Gower
8. Webcke
9. Priddis
10.Kearns
11.Tallis
12.Fitzgibbon
13.Ricketson

14.Wing
15.Kennedy
16.Civoniceva
17.Villasanti

* Campbell and Geyer can be swapped over in defense
** Gower, Priddis and Campbell have played almost every game together this season.
*** Webcke and Tallis there based on proven ability to lift for big games, not on form.

(don't be surprised if the QLD based selectors push for Berrigan at 5/8)

No Lockyer or Mason??

Mason was Canterbury's best by far on the weekend IMO & has proved himself at test level before!!

Lockyer? champion player who is relied on to much by his fellow Broncos.......if he had another creative ball player inside of him his form will be back to his best!!

He has played one good game, is highly overrated by not only people outside but inside the Bulldogs. He has no lateral defence, goes missing at times when he should stand up and would be lucky to be picked on form.

The main thing he has going for him is the contract that Cronulla still have sitting waiting for him.

Mason may have scored 3 tries in 3 tests, but I dont he should be picked. He goes missing most of the time and his defence is a bit weak, especially round the rucks.

I agree that Mason is currently overrated.

He had a good year last year...............but that was last year.

I agree that he had a good game against the chooks, but has done bugger all lately. So much so, that 2 weeks ago, Folkes was talking about dropping him for the finals.

On current form the only thing that will let him be selected, is all the withdrawals....and the fact that the selectors may hope he reproduces the form he showed against the Kiwis last year.

He belongs in the doghouse....they can have him.

With Anderson in the coach's chair you never know what could happen...

Here's my blind guesses:

1. Minichello
2. Tate
3. Girdler
4. De Vere
5. Sing
6. Lockyer (c)
7. Gower
8. Webcke
9. Wing
10. O'Meley
11. Kearns
12. Fitzgibbon
13. Ricketson
14. Anasta
15. O'Hara
16. Villisanti
17. Civinoceva

With Gower's sternum injury it wouldn't surprise me if he pulled out as well leaving either Finch or Kimmorley the no. 7

I would have Matt Orford if Gower pulled out, besides i dont think Gower would pull out, hes a tough customer.

I'd probably prefer Orford as well, but Campbell and Wing could also fill the number 7 jumper quite nicely

IMHO Wing is probably the best utility in the game at the moment.

Campbell is good at the moment as he is playing in a form team......but he is not in Wing's class just yet.

As far as im concerned Orford doesn't stand a chance with Gower & Kimmorley in front of him.....if Kimmorley is the half back??.....It would be the biggest injustice i've seen this year.

It looks like Girdler is out, do we have any centres left in this country.

Tate is out also.

We could probably start a new thread of the players that are not available for the tour.

We could almost make up an "unavailable team"
