Must be announcing the teams and players for the 2025 10 team fully professional comp soon.

Should be a big boost for the game in the media.

It was interesting hearing Woolridge interviewed on the League in America podcast.

He admitted he only has a 1% chance of making the NRL. He said he found the defensive side of the game very easy, in Gridiron you have to tackle insanely gifted athletes 1 on 1 in open field, he said defending in a line wasnt even a challenge for him....but pasing the ball, that's going to be the real challenge.

Leach is currently in negotiations with several teams, he's the size of Asofa- Solomana but faster and more agile, he has a much better chance of making the NRL, maybe a 5% chance lol

There was an update about a month ago on rugbyleaguehub.com

7 licences have been sold ( NY, Las Vegas, Dallas, Boston, Los Angeles, Jacksonville, Toronto ) with Utah and San Francisco expected to take up teams 8 and 9.

Organisers have raised 60mil AUD. Buying a team license also buys 5% ownership in the competition.

Each team will be 50% American and the cap is set for $2 mil USD...which is 4 x higher than Major League Rugby so you'd expect teams to Cherry pick the best American players from that comp.

They are set for an April 2025 kick off...although I find that highly unlikely, if this comp actually happens 2027 is a bit more realistic.

Depends what your definition of a tackle is ? Getting the man to the ground ? Or catching, wrapping up the ball, dancing, holding, wrestling ?

A defensive back in Gridirion has to make a 1 on 1 tackle with recievers at full speed in open field, add to that they have to avoid offensive players who are trying to block them.

I can see why Woolridge finds defending in a line with no blockers and a player only 10 meters away as easy as shooting peas in a Pod ;)

I'm sure the Roosters will teach him how to wrestle so he can tackle in the NRL

"We don't know if they will be called the Wolfpack " is what the article said.

Very short read, Scanlon talking to Mascord, it's behind a pay wall but got posted in the North American threads

Post in thread 'New 2025 USA pro league' https://forums.leagueunlimited.com/threads/new-2025-usa-pro-league.490959/post-16167465
Pvl should try to revive the Wolfpack properly

they were getting crowds of 10k which is more than every mlr club combined

they could be the basis of a solid North American league

they could also be involved in the nrl lv games

Hopefully it was the Wolfpack who purchased the license for the Toronto team.

The.Wolfpacks first game had 250 in attendance, less than 2.years later they were selling out the stadium...and that's before they'd played a Super League game.

They struck lighting once, hopefully Toronto and the other 9 clubs can do it again.

Arlc should be all over this

still be cautious there was a previous league in America which ended up being a lot of hot air

He probably thinks tackling is hitting a player with your shoulder or helmet and his knee, arse or hand touches the ground. He's in for a rude awakening.

If the warriors are headed to LV in 2025 and SL are invited to supply 2 teams, it makes sense it would be Wigan and Dragons.. To have professional clubs from Australia, NZ, England and France is a no brainer. Plenty of French in Quebec and New Orleans..
Wigan vs nz

warriors v warriors
