Conor McGregor has copped one too many to the head.
He has given up a UFC comeback to run for President of Ireland.
Unfortunately when he was first interviewed it became apparent that he thought the President had real power rather than being a figurehead. He will have a very disappointing first day on the job.

The NRL could do much worse than get in bed with WWE/Hulk Hogan.

Wrestlemania is in Las Vegas next year ~6ish weeks after Round 0.
We've recently seen Aussie WWE wrestler Grayson Waller get physical with James Graham at an Aussie show.
And the WWE routinely send out custom championship belts to the Panthers when we win in October.

The links are already there. Time to go all in.

Could they, I`m not sure that linking with these sort of organisations, especially,MMA, is good for where we want to take the game. Do we want the characters from those organisations starting to show up in our promotions.

It would add some credibility to the sport as well as getting the support of influential people

Let's see what they can bring to the table:
- 40 years experience of selling out stadiums worldwide
- 10 hours of prime-time TV coverage per week beamed around the world
- Access to megastars like The Rock with his ~400m followers on social media, or Logan Paul

Also keep in mind, that they don't need to promote the game to 'us' (Aussies, Kiwis or Brits). Keep it all focused on the US audience.

Also as an aside, I remember seeing some wrestling at Penrith Park on a Friday night before the footy many years ago. They almost brought down the goalposts 10m before kickoff.

Update 16.10-30.10

Pretty decent sales over the past fortnight. Probably closer to the 200-300 p/w range. 6 rows of Elite Experience came onto General Public sale, but they sold out in a couple of days, around 108 Pax alone.

Starting to put tickets back on sale in areas in all levels. Possibly were being held for travel packages. Just an estimation but I'd say Elite Experience is probably somewhere around 50% sold now. Lines up with reported sales and the sales in other parts of the ground (unless they're holding off sale large parts of Level 2)
16.10 - 30.10.gif

Credit One Club appears to have also sold out. 300 PAX at $1650 = $495,000 Revenue

So many cross over possibilities.
WWE coaches teaching players how to dive and stay down.
WWE steroid suppliers teaching Cronulla how to do it better next time
NRL players teaching WWE stars how to deal with getting caught sniffing the white line
the possibilities are endless!

VEGAS AND JD SPORTS
Hot on the heels of a groundbreaking deal with Red Bull, the NRL has landed another significant sponsorship that strengthens their appeal to a younger audience by signing JD Sports to be their presenting partner for Las Vegas for the next two years.

The latest deal with a global brand is further evidence of the NRL’s growing appeal with the likes of Reece Walsh, Nathan Cleary and Kalyn Ponga helping rugby league capture a new market.
JD Sports is a global brand that is big in the US and UK and growing in Australia and New Zealand. This will be their first foray into footy sponsorship.

“It is great to welcome JD Sports to the rugby league community as a partner and as a brand that has a passion for innovation,” NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo said.

“We look forward to working with JD Sports to take the Rugby League Las Vegas festival to even greater heights for fans over the next two years.

“The partnership represents an opportunity for the NRL to work with a global sports brand to build our connection to youth culture and capitalise on the brand’s influence in the US.”
