Almost no one likes Trump. A totally vacuous individual.

But he is the president of the USA and his presence would promote RL. It's a tier above accepting money for the Saudis. So I'll allow it.

Obviously more people in the US like him than those that don’t or he wouldn’t be president today.

it would be huge for the event in vegas, the NRL and RL in general.

To be fair that V'landys, that article was a reporter saying, "Will you try to get Trump" and him saying "Yeh, sure".

It's a fairly big nothing burger.

And I hope the NRL are ok with any player refusing to shake his hand. Players should not be put in the position to have to validate a 34 times convicted criminal, no matter that he's the president...pre ww2 Hitler was also the leader of Germany at the '36 Olympics and athletes from other countries openly shunned him. But if the nrl is comfortable with having trump then they should also welcome onto the field (to meet the players) the 1500 " patriotic J6 hostages" as he calls them!. Don't think for a second that Trump might not invite them himself....now THAT little awkwardness would be just what Vlandys would deserve!

No not really...just where it will go if they align themselves with a polorizing figure...when it came through the wash Trump won by 1% ...does the nrl really want half the US population to switch off because Trump will be there because that IS what will happen ...at BEST

I think the NRL would snap your hand off for the support of 51% of the US electorate.
