How was the experience ?

As good as league is they also need money which the nrl has to make stuff happen but even then it’s going to be a very long term project

You’re right about the Wolfpack what they did was amazing

I was gutted when super league effectively killed them off by giving them zero tv money but gave the team that replaced them (Leigh) one million pounds

I shouldn’t laugh but the bit about them switching off thinking it was union is funny but does highlight the education issues
It was amazing , Las Vegas was flooded with Aussies, poms, and Kiwis......also stunned by the amount of Jamaican people there who went to the game. The stadium is incredible......out of this world. The acoustics are amazing, and the atmosphere there this year with 10,000 singing poms in the mix would certainly be something. We are going back again when the Bulldogs play there, hopefully it's against the eels

Dogs are trying to go next year
Story says it’s v the dragons

Imagine a hull derby there

Aussie fans would go nuts even if it was just 10k of them

Definitely. They're an example that proves that it's only a matter of getting people's eyes on the game for it to take off internationally. Getting those eyes there in the first place is the problem. When I was in the USA last year after watching the Vegas games, we made a point of bringing the games up with the locals we met. The few we met who happened to see it on TV all said they switched it straight off, and when I asked them why, all the reasons they gave invariably related to confusing it with Rugby Union.

It would be, but perhaps it could be overcome by playing games in three week blocks...... Three at home then three away etc. it would be absolutely fantastic for both The NRL and the game in America if a way could be found to make it work 🤞🤞🤞
pipedream

None of the American sports have managed to get a professional team there because it isn't financially viable

Canberra’s GIO Stadium and FMG Stadium Waikato will be modified to replicate Allegiant Stadium for this weekend’s Witzer Pre-season Challenge to help Vegas-bound players adapt to the smaller playing field.

With players in the four teams opening the Telstra Premiership season on March 1 to have their final hit-out before departing for the US, the NRL has approved the modification of the two grounds from 100m to 94.5m in length and 68m to 63.1m in width.

The Raiders will host the Sharks in Canberra on Thursday night, while the Warriors meet the Storm, who are not one of the four Vegas teams, in Hamilton on Saturday night.

Four-time premiers Penrith, who will face Cronulla in the final match of the quadruple header at Allegiant Stadium, which also features the Wigan-Warrington Super League clash and Australia-England women’s Test, have a bye this weekend.

The four teams have spent time training on modified fields in a bid to help players adjust to the shorter and narrower dimensions of Allegiant Stadium.

Pre covid UK league had big vision. Championship had teams from London, Toronto & Toulouse. Stags licence was purchased by Ottawa group. Games were played in Australia & Barca where they got 30k. Sonny Bill signing gave league more attention than anytime in recent memory. Things have shifted and now NRL is leading way.
