Not sure if it was just a throw away line or accurate, but one of the commentators on the Storm preseason mentioned 50k seats sold. To have 50k sold you would need only 5k seats remaining combined in level 1, 2 and 3. I'm not sure if we're seeing that, I could see us being close to 45k sold now.

Early weather forecast is looking good. Much better than the 110km/h winds last year. Vegas day last year was the worst wind they've had in Las Vegas since 1989. Surprised they managed the crowd they did, given the conditions.

Not sure if your serious about the weather thing… it’s indoors… the weather has no bearing on the stadium.

Was that 1989 thing real? I’m a Raiders fan… I watch practically every game. I’ve never ever heard of issues outside that stadium since the team moved to Vegas.

Edit: scratch that… I just googled it…

yup it definitely is a thing that happens in spring in Vegas… which would be about now… lol

I haven`t heard any word on the tail-gate party that was being promoted big time last year but got ruined by the weather.

I thought it had a lot of potential as a way of maybe getting last minute ticket sales and just a great experience for the fans.

It has a big bearing on people getting to the stadium. I'm pretty sure many walk there and it was supposedly extreme winds outside the stadium area before kickoff.

People that paid for tickets would go regardless but people that got freebies or were wondering if they should check it out would have just forgotten about it.

TV isn't going to swallow a 9pm kick off in Australia.

How about a more radical suggestion? If we are trying to market the game invented by the English in England, maybe involve England?

I'm thinking outside the box here, what about Australia v England at Wembley?

They’d just do 11am London time and keep it as 8pm here in that case. I’d say they’re more likely to start with an NRL game if they want to do it though, clubs would have a huge tanty about flying 40ish players to England and back mid-season you’d imagine, regardless of how big the occasion is.

I’ve always thought they could do an NRL/SL double header the week after a WCC on a ‘round zero’ like Vegas. 2 teams go over, one plays WCC, the other plays another big club then a week later they have an NRL/SL double header in London or Manchester. Problem is as we saw this year is what happens if an NRL team locked in for Vegas wins the comp.

That would get at least 10k more Aussie fans than this year maybe 20k

Sydney media and fans would whinge deluxe the following year when it’s Cowboys, Titans, Dolphins, Storm & Knights to pick from though.

I’d go something like:
2026 - Bulldogs, Dragons, Storm & Titans
2027 - Tigers, Eels, Cowboys & Knights
2028 - Dolphins + 3

Put the Bears in for 2028 but only if they come in to the comp in 2027, any new club should play their first game at home.

I don't know if people realise how bad it was. It had the sustained winds and gusts to be classed as a Category 1 Cyclone.

Roof definitely helped, would have been far less without it. But still has two fold effect. People who were flying in on the day couldn't land at the airport - Kevin Rudd was meant to be there but had his flight cancelled. As well as said above, new fans who picked up a cheap ticket - could hardly blame them for not wanting to venture outside, even if the stadium is enclosed.
