You said four games was too much

Now you are saying they should keep the women’s game in some format

lol
Play the NRL games back to back. The majority of the crowd watches that in their seats or at home on TV. Thats all that matters, the rest is just "bonus material"

Those games can be scheduled around it, or not at all.

They will play in front of an empty stadium, but thats the punters choice.

So four games is ok

Glad we cleared that up

This is great news

But you assured me that people would stay for 10 hrs to watch the games?

The only thing that matters to the NRL is having two games on back to back.
You’re literally saying they will stay for four games if they schedule it right

Other than a few idiots on the internet the number of fans in their seats during each game isn’t really a big deal

No, no they wont, and its bad scheduling. 4 games is to much.

Glad to see you finally think Vlandys is an idiot than. He is against 4 games.

My point was that its harsh for the NRLW to miss out because the administrators f**ked up.

Four games is too many

So who misses out if it’s not the women

Pvl is a genius for admitting he was wrong with the test match and punting in into the sun

If they want to keep four games than a women’s origin or the grand final rematch is the way to go

It cant be four.

It's not genius for recognising after the fact, what everyone could see was a f**kup.

Yep I was right lol

Anyway, I think a two-day, five game program would work best.

Fri night US, Sat arvo AU/NZ
1 SL, 1 NRL

Sat night US, Sun arvo AU/NZ
1 Womens, 1 SL, 1 NRL

SL was the right call, NRL x 2 is the right call, and a women's game definitely belongs there provided it's high calibre. Whether its an exhibition SOO, an AUS-NZ test or an NRLW exhibition game, even an All Stars? Not sure, but I don't see why a 2-day program couldn't work given how much lead-up there already is.

Also means Aus fans aren't waiting til Sunday and the premiership isn't kicking off at 11am AEDT lol

The only problem with a 2 day schedule is
1 doubling the cost of the stadium hire
2 the crowd will be spread out over 2 days, the stadium will be half empty both days. I doubt many neatral fans will go on the day thier team isnt playing.

I'd try and look at a 3 game programme, 1 x SL, 1 x NRL + WCC.
WCC would be a logistical nightmare because the teams aren't decided until early Oct, as well as how it will affect the ongoing NRL schedule, but we have PVL and he could make it work. If the NRL becomes involved with the SL then this would be a bigger chance of happening. Plus with the WCC you have something unique to market to the US audience as there is a trophy on the line.

Organising a wcc for Vegas actually has more time than organising a normal wcc which is usually held 2 weeks before

Either location the teams won’t be known until after each grand final

I agree with that part, I think the pushback will come from the NRL team as to how it affects their season re: byes etc considering this game will now be basically played during our round 1.
SL teams always seem to make it work, which is why I believe PVL can get it done.

as I've said a few time before, dumb f**ken move sending a club team called "new zealand" over.
heard multiple reports of yanks in the crowd wanting to see the haka.....
The team isn’t going to change its name just for the yanks, so tough shit. And the team isn’t also going to miss out on the chance to go to Vegas because of a name.
Anyway it’s history now as it’ll be different teams next year.

The Obvious choice is to scrap the Women's tests, which was a lopsided disaster and the gap that it placed between NRL fixtures likely discouraged people from attending.

Two NRL games back to back is a long sitting and asking them to stick around for 2 hours in between was a bridge too far.
And in all honesty, the Women's brought no fans of their own of significance.

I'd say , having the Women's was possibly around a 2k to 5k net loss of attendance at a guess..

2026 hopefully looks like:

Saint Helens vs Catalans
Dolphins vs Parramatta
Dogs vs Dragons

They're not all the biggest draws but big enough to get an increase and still have some big clubs to play in years 4 and 5..

Leeds vs ?
Titans vs Tigers
Melbourne vs Newcastle

5
Hull kr vs hull fc
Cowboys vs PNG
Broncos vs Souths
