Neither Hull teams will bring any fans, if they had enough money they would have already left Hull.

As a Pom what`s your take on the pulling power of those teams and do you think that Vegas may start to draw neutrals or even fans of other codes for the event. Poms seem to be great travellers for sporting events. I`m hopeful the big union following may start to take an interest and NRL is pretty well known in union circles.

They reckon of the 10k Sl fans at Vegas this year around 2-3k where from each club and the rest neutrals. Probably about right. All 4 clubs in the hat have big fanbases so no reason to think it wont achieve the same next year, as long as the neutrals keep going.
RL is steeped in working class communities in Uk so there just isnt the disposable income many Australians enjoy. Any of the 4 clubs in the hat would take 15-20k+ to Wembley or Old Trafford.

We’ve talked about what to do with Vegas after the 5 years finish. We could extend, or there were talks of taking it to London. I don’t think either is ideal because after 5 years most Australian/biritsh/nz supporters who wanted to go to Vegas to watch their team play will have gone, some twice… the novelty will be gone and therefore we’ll get less travellers and rely more on locals.

Wembley is far that’s a big trip to take for Aussies, it will also be in the wrong time slot.

I think we should take it to Hawaii. My reasons:

1. Like Vegas, Hawaii is a destination unto itself. People will travel because it’s Hawaii and as a bonus see their team play.
2. Hawaii should be considered a potential candidate for a future expansion team so we can put the feelers out there, they have the Polynesian connection and no nfl team to compete with.
3. Gives us another angle of attracting the US market
4. They are building a new stadium that will be perfect for rugby league and ready in a couple years, a 35k stadium and revamped precinct.
5. Continues to make the nrl launch round exciting and fresh with a Hawaii flavour
6. Good time slot for Aussies and brits that can work for tv

Super League's Las Vegas decision as one club emerges as front runner

A final decision on who will travel stateside next year will be made early next month but All Out Rugby League has learned that Hull KR have emerged as the strong front runner to be involved next year after expressing a willingness for the game to be considered one of their 'home' fixtures next year, which comes with a significant financial burden.

But given that, the Robins appear to be a near guarantee to be in Vegas next year and they are expected to be joined by either Leeds Rhinos or St Helens, with Hull FC thought to have opted to put their focus on an appearance in 2027.
