If they scaled it back to London south of France and Dubai ($$$) then maybe more workable

I get the union bashing and dislike, but if R360 want all the league players then why will they be playing union? Might as well play league.

I think the intention is to "fix" the rule of union, so somewhere between Union and League. Get the ball in play more, and have more tries, cause they think that's all fans want.

To be fair, having the rules only ratified via the Northern Union holds the game of Union back a lot. For a while around the late 90's and early 2000's they the game moving towards more attacking rules, and the Southern countries dominated so much, that they changed those intepretations back. The 2000 Bledisole was a great game of Union (the stadium oz match), loads of ball in play. But Union likes to shoot itself in the foot and dialled it all back.

Competions can run trial rules that can then be submitted for consideration by the Northern Union, but really they like 10 man Rugby too much which suits the slower grounds they have in teh Northern Hemisphere.
