It was reported on the Main game that Brent Tate could well be going to the Dogs next year to play with his Brother in law, but Steve Ricketts from the Courier mail says he could sign with the Broncs as early as tomorrow!!

So we can probably cross him of the list!

whats so good about him then...i cant beleive he played for Australia...then again so has El Masri :x .....he has his good moments but at the moment i'd take Langi over him any day

Don't know how the Dogs can afford Tate, and why they'd want him anyway with 2 very strong 3 quarters. I thought they'd be trying to get a decent hooker, surprised they didn't have a shot at our Mark.

Langi's doing OK, but I don't think he's rep material. Whereas Tate, even though I haven't been a huge fan - Broncos/Qld :evil: - does have the potential to be one of the decade's class centres.

let's not even argue why he would have been good for Parra - that is just dumb. The one position we are seriously lacking in is the centres and he one of the best going around.

but I think some credit has to be given to Junior Langi, hes playing some really good footy at the moment.

The dogs might be able to afford Tate if they release a few players.

There are strong rumours about Anasta (still under contract) & El Masri (off contract) to Souths and Jamie Feeney has already been told to pack his bags so you never know. Thurston is also off contract.

But the dogs already have 2 outstanding centres in Tonga & Harris plus Sonny Bill Williams & Lolesi as back-up. Why would they spend $250-300k in a position they've already got very well covered? #-o

Can't see it happening. I think the media has seen that Tate wants to test the market and put 2 and 2 together to get 5.

You will find that the dogs do have money under the cap becuase everyone took a pay cut a few years ago. Some players will be on significantly less than expected.

However, Tonga will need more becuase he is now a state of origin player. So how much money no one really knows. We will soon see.

Cant see them signing him! Rumors there because he hasent signed yet with broncos and the relationship he has with Price.... But thinking theoretically at the bulldogs there is tonga, utter, harry, lolesi...... all can cover center.....it would be stupid to sign him when there is quailty there!!!! Folks will be looking for a new 5/8th ala T.Smith....for the fact that Anasta and Thurstons future at the club is unclear.
