The making of Raper

Can't help but think that the Canberra game may turn out to be the definitive moment in Raper's NRL coaching career. He made some big calls such as including the woefully out of form Isemonger at the expense of a rising star, gave chances to youngsters such as Dumas and Reece Williams and managed to get Peachey and Kimmorley to return to their very best form.

Also finally buried the bloody flat attack and had the boys deep, giving Noody more time to place his kicks into space and giving the likes of Stevens a chance to wind up.

I'm sure he will gain a lot of confidence after last night now he has shown he is upto the demands of coaching an NRL team.

Well done Stuey.

Ditto that chilli.
Reckon Stevens loved this way of playing as was his best game for a long time and when you say "the wind up by stevens", yep he showed them why he is still a top class player

I just hope the Canberra game is just a stepping stone to bigger things and not a highlight of the season. Stuey needs to make sure we back it up, and back it up again after that.

We should do well against Parramatta next weekend. The team will want revenge after the Hayne debacle last year and Kimmorley will be one angry man for missing out on the Test team.

I think we will be competitive next week as well.

I have been happy with Rapers coaching so far. It looks as though he has been able to sort out the problems that have been effecting our game ie discipline etc
Hopefully we can continue the form shown last week and keep on improving.

I would love to see the Sharkies beat a few of the top 4 contenders 8)

revenge is a poor motivater it de focuses the team from the job if wwe go out looking for vengence from that game last year we will lose.

all they have to do is stick to there job descriptons as they did last week

on the flat attack it was of intrest to hear peachey say on the wireless that little had changed since anderson except they are a couple meters deep

looks to me like the forwards at least stil play at the ruck in attack that's where that young bloke gibson improved us as he wasnt foot plantd at dumy half. he was quick and he was moving like the othr girly looking boy sullyvan

I think the most important thing they need to do is heed Noddy's words directly after the game.

"Now all we have to do is not believe we're good."

If Raper can stop them doing that - make them realise they didn't win because they're good, but because they played with passion and discipline AS A TEAM - then we'll do well for the rest of the year.

I agree this could be the turning point for Raper - but I'll wait until after the Parra game to say one way or the other with any certainty.

I certainly hope so!!
