The Daily Telegraph had the right title ' Glimpses of Brilliance'. There have been little glimpses all year, however i think we are better waiting for next season to see what this team can really do. There is a slim chance we can make the finals but lets face it unless we come 7th we will get knocked out first roundby the storm anyways
How many out of this team will be elsewhere next year ?
Wicks
Houston
Leano
Sims
and possibly/probably Payne gone....
I am not suggesting that any/all of those players are superstars, but under the current CEO's modus operandi we do seem to have a high turnover of players from year to year.
Personally I think Houston is the one who is most likely to succeed but regardless, we look likely to go through the almost habitual "half-boom then bust" cycle of bringing in a kid with little NRL experience to replace another who had a few years experience then losing said rookie due to "the salary cap" once he has found his feet at NRL level.
Alternately we buy a journeyman/older head ie Millard/Carlaw/Bickerstaff who goes well for us as a bargain buy but then after just one season again we have to let him go due to "salary cap".
It's all about the shape.
