No doubt, listening to rab's, gould and sterlo is almost sickening watching the Roosters play... Perfect example is last weekend when pearce put aubusson through to score. Rab's goes... "Did Pearce pass that?", Gould replies with "yep" then rab's goes "oh my what a pass" then kept going on about it... It was almost as if the pass was judged on who passed it, not the pass itself. It's the same story every week, it wears pretty thin. They look to praise him whenever they can, even if it's just your every day task.

He's certainly a talented player, but sometimes they make the most simple kicks or passes out to be the greatest thing they've ever seen. It's amazing how clique the football fraternity can be, some players can just do no wrong in the eyes of the media.

Totally agree with that, but the same can be said with a number of players that the CH9 commentators have wood for.

They bang on about Sutton a lot, Hornby, while a solid player, they wrap him like he can walk on water, Pearce as mentioned, decent player still learning and has done some good thing this year but hasnt been super good.
Just depends on who they want to get in rep teams tbh.
Take James Mcmanus, Andrew Johns basically wrapped him until he got a start in origin, and we havent heard of him since.

Pearce definately is the flavour of the month in the Nine commentary box, as well Benji. They can make a every day of the mill pass/kick and the commentators will overplay their involvment. On the flip side, you take a guy like Cooper Cronk for example in round two against the Titans. He puts over a brilliant chip kick, decides he can't catch the ball so he puts it again on the toe to his winger (Quinn) and sets up the first of many tries for Melbourne. A brilliant bit of footy from Cronk. Absolutely brillaint. Heaven help us if that same play had come from the two guys I mentioned!

It's more and more noticeable that the commentators push the barrow of some. Helps if your a Rooster and Gould is covering your game it has to be said. Wasn't there a push to have him removed from Roosters games? If not, why not? He ain't as bad as he was with "his team" though sometimes he just can't help himself when he fails to be impartial when discussing "his team" and it's players.

Definitely, they all have their favourites, Pearce is probably one of the worst though and has been for about 2-3 years, unfortunately there is no reprieve from it either as FOX have just as much wood for Pearce as 9 given the Wayne Pearce connection.

Honestly he's a good, solid player... But he isn't the match winner he's made out to be, much of the Roosters success is reliant on Carney firing. Pearce just makes sure the sets end well and gets to the kick, I wouldn't expect him to come up with a big play with their backs to the wall. However if you listen to the commentary you'd think he was better than Johns.
