This I think is one of his absolute best.
Blitz had their moments. Highlight was the 90-second blast of Never Surrender.Oi Oi Oi
Nothing definitive in this post re who or what. This one is for the Hammers fans.A bit of old school football hooliganism
Dammit. I forgot to turn the age filter off.
Should have covered Hey Little Girl and claimed it was the original. Court case would have been interesting.@horrie hastings
Not sure if you’re a Bryan Ferry or Roxy Music fan but found this cover of Robert Palmer’s Johnny & Mary.
I find it absolutely stunning.
Most of the Oi bands are pretty forgettable but the one exception has to be the 4 Skins. They had a stack of really great songs.Blitz had their moments. Highlight was the 90-second blast of Never Surrender.
Precisely what constitutes Punk Rock is a moot point. With that caveat, I reckon the US had a clear advantage over the UK in the 80s. We delivered diminishing returns from football-terrace shoutalong Oi bands. They produced Husker Du, Descendents, Minor Threat, Government Issue, augmented by myriad less renowned talents.
Fanfare for the taxpayers of Montreal.
Considering he said it was for Hammers fans then I would say your guess of Cockney Rejects is spot on the money.Nothing definitive in this post re who or what.
Educated guess - Cockney Rejects
Right Here Right Now by Fatboy Slim has been used for what seems like millennia to soundtrack video ref deliberations in Super League.
Wasn't expecting to see a Big Black number posted. Steve Albini sadly passed away last year. Can remember reading in the music press that he would be working with the Pixies. Seemed an ideal match. Case proven when the record was released.
