25 years ago these two legends graced the stage for part of the opening ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic games.

How times have changed, Olivia no longer with us and John having a long battle with cancer and probably never sing again.

And sadly this was Olivia's last live performance, she did record songs afterwards but never performed live on stage again.
Not sure whether John performed live after this before his diagnosis.

I snapped up Le Freak in December 78 unaware that someone had already bought me the parent album as a Christmas present. Which meant 75 pence up the spout.

The UK version of C'est Chic was a 10-track affair, augmented by the two singles from the previous album. Excellent value. Amidst copious irresistible grooves, the ballad At Last I Am Free is a gem.

In the UK, this on to the Top Singles Chart for 10 weeks, and peaked at No. 4.

The line "I don't want to live my life again" provides an opening to mention my favourite overlooked Ramones track.

"I Don't Want To Live This Life Anymore" was a Dee Dee song which appeared on the B-side of the Crummy Stuff 12 inch.

You really can't go wrong with the Ramones. I've seen them live 4 times and they were brilliant each and every time.
