The myth of Tim Sheens

- 1 finals appearance since 1996
- continual selection of an inept D Fitzhenry
- continued persistence of a clown from Newcastle who came into grade as a winger and is now making a pig's ear of playing in the halves
- has a word to referee's boss .. same old sh*t happens the next wk. Cop the 10k and blow up you idiot. Fulton did it and he got a comp out of it when he launched into harrigan
- (with ronald) the signing of a player (junior burger) who when selected has won 3 from a possible 22 matches
- he shifts players from key positions (Marshall, Farah) to compensate for the inept f**kwit he signed (for 3 years at that)
- this commitment to razzle dazzle sh*t in our own 20.
- every team has players that run hard, we have a couple that do and the rest that dance, do 360s etc
- his Minister of Defence - someone posted our defensive stats in terms of tries conceded. Appalling. The minister of defence was the same bloke punted from a club he was a hero at. That club won a comp within 2 years of him going
- commitment to Ben Galea. How many missed shoulder charges does it take ?
- commitment to the chain smoking moodie early on that cost us 2 games

Those of you that think he's the greatest coach need your heads read. We will struggle to make the 8 this yr (and if we do we'll cop a hiding off melbourne in melbourne) and with the side we have on paper we shouldn't be losing to sh*t like easts and the titans (x2). This is the lowest comp in history and we are battling to be in the top 8.

He is the Kerry Anne Kennerley of the coaching scene

Some of these comments are very valid, but who is getting results to say that they could be a competent replacement ??? The only one i can think of is Justin Morgan who continually gets very ordinary sides to get good results, but that is in the Super League, so i`m not sure how creditable that is ???

I would honestly go for a brand new coach (i had this argument/debate pre game). Some names i would throw in the hat (whether or not they'd stop what they're doing I don't know):
- Matt Johns
- Greg Alexander
- Laurie Daley
- Daniel Anderson
- Jim Dymock
- David Furner
- Cleary will be off contract next yr I'd say (though if he stays in NZ I have it on good authority that a certain player of ours who will never get much first grade with us will be on his way - him playing off the back of their forwards would be a nightmare for defenders)
- Steven Kearney (would have learned plenty from Bellamy)

I don't think it necessarily has to be someone that is a current NRL coach. If everyone had that mentality coach's positions would be like musical chairs. I am really starting to think Sheens fluked 3 months in his 5 yrs here and we were blessed enough to get a comp out of it that none of us ever thought we'd see

I have a few criticisms.

1. The lack of Marquee signings, have we had any since Brett Hodgson?
2. Defending Marshall on Monaghan, Bombed to death
3. Persistence with poor players, they aren't doing the job
4. Gameplan, while it can make us beat teams like Melbourne, it causes us to lose to poor teams
5. Choice of recruitment, I have no doubts that guys like John Morris can play, but he is a 6 or a 9, and we have a good 6 and a good 9, we need a 7
6. Not copping the fine, just blast the dam ref.

Exactly. In the bare light of day, Sheens has put together 3 good months with us, off the back of which we won a comp. Last year was an ordinary defence and this year is awful given the standard of the comp and the team we have `on paper'. Our side makes the same stupid mistakes week after week (you just know we will do something stupid the set after a try) and the same underperforming players are picked week after week after week

He has no idea about player selections.

In 2005 he was disappointed with our line up at the beginning of the year saying we lacked 'experience'. To me it looked like the first year we've actually had 'talent'

Had big wraps on Moodie in 07 when every man and his dog knew he was well past it. Hell, he was getting run down by props in '04 ffs

Talk to any other teams supporter to get an unbiased opinion about Fitzy and theyll tell you straight up hes sh*t. Tries hard - yes, Super fit -yes, excellent athelete -yes, footballer - f**k no.

Morris was supposedly going to be the next 'Cooper Cronk'.........um no.

Now hes trying to ruin Benjis career by playing him at halfback. Hes a roving touch footy style player with silky skills , but he needs a leader in the number 7 to work off. Prince filled that role perfectly but any other solid nippy half could do the same yet super coach cant see it.

These comments are very true.

Whoever is Sheens' press agent has done a job of Goebbels proportions in peddling out misinformation about what a good coach he is. As Benny said in his book `you'd be worried if a coach couldn't win a comp' with the side he had at Canberra. He got us playing decent football for 3 months in 05. Who could forget the early part where we got run down from 12 up by st george when fitzspastic gave them a thousand tries or losing an arm wrestle to a garbage manly side at brookvale ... or when he played Ben Reynolds at hooker in Round 1 whilst FArah (yep, Robbie Farah) played PL. The bloke is that overrated it's not funny.

Look at the sh*t players he has given a thousand chances to:
- fitzy
- reynolds
- moodie
- nick graham
- he's doing the same with GAlea now

As an aside, apparently Halatau was filthy last night when he was told he was dropped. And expect ou very good and very talented PL hooker to be passing to the likes of Price and Luiaki next season ...

2007 is the year that you could play pretty average and still make the eight and even the four. So not to make the eight or even just squeak in is not acceptable.
2008 what is going to change??? The cap is full or almost full so how do we recruit to plug the gaps, we cant. So we are faced with another bleak year.
Remember Sheens no 1 saying you need a no1 no6 no7 and no9---well we have a no9 and our no1 has a heart as big as Texas but best days are behind him. no no7, question marks on our no6
The other thing all coaches will tell you, you need a feared front row or at least a tough one. Galloway has never finished on top a half descent frontrower, Gibbs goes at a 100 miles an hour without asking to many questions in either attack or defence,Payten puts in but at most teams would be their impact off the bench prop,Harrison well his defence isnt going to worry anyone and his attack is more suited to the backrow, Saffey we will never know.
Sheens refusal to experiment with a no7 from within after Marshall and especially Hogos injury and the lack of interest in trying to pick either Lewis or Soward up mid season will be what kills our season.
Just look at his stats over ten years except for a golden back half of 2005 their crap.

2007 is dead and gone--2008 is going to be a very bleak year at the tigers but long term will be the turning point because their will be changes--forced changes

Quite true again. In regards to Stu Flanagan, i reckon the bloke will be in the top 4-5 hookers in the game once he starts playing regular first grade and would be a superstar with the Warriors. In regards to Flanagan, we can`t realistically hold onto him and expect him to be Farah`s back up, the kid is too good for that. Halatau deserved to be dropped, but maybe not as much as Ben Galea did ???

Our main problem is we have never got anything going this year, in our 6 game winning streak, we only played well in 3 of those games, and that was the only time we put decent performances together back to back, when we smashed the Storm, Dogs and Dragons.

Whats this about Flannagan? Why would we sign him(even though I would like him)? We already have two hookers.

Hahah making things up. Yep that's me. Just like i made it up about Hodgo hours before it was on the main page. The news is from someone 1000% in the know with regards Flanno. Basically he has seen Chase and De Gois leave (both hookers he was rated by than - and no doubt is better than) and go on to play regular first grade.

The Auckland Lions v Balmain game a few wks ago was televised into NZ and Flano got Man of the Match (he murdered them). Flano is all class and would be in first grade at any other club with the exception of Melbourne. He is that good. He is way too good to be sat behind Robbie and playing only 3 games a yr (when Robbie is picked for Origin) and we can't hold it against him. He is just very unfortunate he is only a year or 2 younger than a 1 in 20 year player like Robbie

And why is that the clubs fault or Sheens fault you foolonthehill
Do you realise how dumb you sound….blaming the coach because we have both Farah and Flanno at the club and Flanno can’t get a start…what an absolute idiot

But you might be onto something there, if Flanno leaves we will have some spare cash, you are a genius. And the club should sign you up as assistant coach as you know everything and we couldn’t possibly lose then…

I don't get why Flanngan would come to the Warriors. Unless we signed Henderson up to play PL.....

Where have I blamed Sheens for Flannagan going. Was just passing on a snippet of info.
I blame Sheens for the things that see us battling to make a top 8 in the lowest 16 team comp in history on the back of his, and his administration's, decisions. The waste of space he signed to play half back has caused every one of our big 3 to shift around to accommodate. Sheens signed a f**king monkey and his big headedness and stubborness has seen super coach pick this f**king clown week after week after week despite everyone being able to see he is not a half, or 5/8 and brings absolutely nothing to our team.

Fien was available at times last year. We could have done worse. Actually we did a lot worse

You put it in a thread that aimed a broadside at Tim Sheens, you even put it in a post aimed at Tim…I have no doubt what so ever that you blame Tim for every player lost since he came to the club, and if Flanno left you would be blaming him for that also.
It is quite obvious that you have one big vendetta against Tim, you a Balmain fan?
