As we all know, Souths have gone a very long time without a Premiership yet still get called 'The Pride of the League'. No team with a drought this long is deserving of that title.
So the question is who should that name be passed on to?

It's pretty pathetic to hold a team so highly above the rest, especially in a competition where a new team dominates on pretty much an annual basis. The idea that Souths were/are the pride of the league is the biggest farce in the game and furthermore a slap to the face of other teams. It was originally just some bloke calling them that when they weren't a steaming pile of failing shit, but as Souths fans do, they cling to the glory days and assume they're still deserving of that title.

So really the title doesn't hold much worth.

Isn't it funny that since the league became competitive and fair, Souths' greatest achievement has been the Charity Shield?

This is why people hate South Sydney fans. Over half your supporter base weren't alive when they won their last premiership and very, very few who ever witnessed the "glory days". You cling to this era where your club had the balance of power, where you manipulated the game the way you wanted it.
