I agree Sharkman.

Although, maybe we should be asking why our club management aren't out in the marketplace looking for these 'bargains'.

Along with the players you mention, I think Todd Payten is on the same set-up. Three clubs are paying him, aren't they?

I reckon Sludge needs to hunt some of these contract 'takeovers' down, snare us some bargains.

See, that's my point Angry...Why didn't WE snare him?!? Instead, we get Hassan 'Spitter' Saleh...Great...

Neither did Preston Campbell at the Gold Coast!

I guess it all comes down to how astute our 'talent scouts' are, and if they are able to see something in a player (ie Amos) that their current coach (Brown, at the time) can't see.

Give Ando his due, Nutley is a good example of this.

Boys, I don't know why for the life of me we don't look at Qld Cup more for players?? I beleive I could pick a Qld cup side that could just about win the NRL comp in 3 years time.

I am not wrapping myself, just trying to highlight that there are plenty of Billy Slaters and Danny Nutleys running around up here who are fantastic footballers, but just need the opportunities.

Doust said the other night that the Roosters bought out Firman's whole contract, so the Queens aren't paying a cent for him.

This begs the question how in god's name can they afford 150k, when their CEO stated some time ago the money for Freddy's retirement would be gobbled up by upgrades to their "OTHER" stars???

They really annoy me, and it happens EVERY single year with them.

Thank god we tied up our off contract players before they got a chance to snaffle them up.

Dunno about that
The two performers of this year Gallen and Sully seem to be slipping away
The club has put Peach on hold as well

Likely to be negotiating with other clubs after June 30

Sully in particular is a worry, wants to play half and wants a substantially bigger offer by the sounds of it

With all due respect mate, and look, you are right in a way, there are plenty of QLD cup players that make and impact, and wil ldo in the future in the NRL. We had our time with Green for example, Beattie too served well.

But let's be real here, any player of above average NRL standard is snaffled by the broncos very early on, yes, there are some who mature later and they are the ones we can get, but the Brissy class is similar to the QLD horse form mate, I'd back a Sydney bred and raced runner everyday before a QLD one.

It's just weight of quality, the kids playing in 15s here in metro NSW are facing higher quality opponants week in week out and there is a far larger portion of "Cream" down here.

Nutley was recommended to Ando from some in the UK at the time, I think it was Nikau.

Yep. T was approached by dOpes and politely declined. Then pointed to his good mate Nuts, and the rest is history.

Ive never really seen Fairman play that well , he is always injured! I can see him at the Roosters tho . They will train him properly so he wont get injured as much , its a real skill they have.My big worry is they will sign Paul Gallen!

Firman looked pretty happy down at Taren Point pub today, must have been a nice little pay out.
