I'd say Johns is still the best, but being the best means nothing if you're not on the field

How a bloke who has hardly played in 3 years is better than Darren Lockyer ill never know, even when johns is playing lockyer has always been better, johns is an over rated media pony, the day he retires will be a day ill hold close to my heart for a long long time

Over the last 2 years this is a real no contest.
3 years ago Media Puzzle won the Melbourne Cup.
Last year he couldnt match the new 2 mile champ.
(he was injured for a while).
At weight for age Northerly was the champ for 2 years.
Unfortunately not as good when he came back. (also injured).
On that basis I've got to go with the new champ.

A lot of people don't think too fondly of Johns (I am one of them) but Lockyer is no-where near as dominate as Johns is in a match. Perhaps Lockyer is better at the current time, but at their best I'd take Johns any day of the week

I think Johns domintaes the whole 80 minutes more and I dont quite think Lockyer can do that, he also cant turn a match nore do I think he has the attcking skills of Johns...

Im trying to be unbiased, but I cant see why so many people think Lockyer is better ? It could be cuz people think Johns is an ass off of the feild ?

And really If you swaped Lockyer and Johns in each others team you probably see Broncos be top 3 and Knights be bottom 8.... What I was trying to point out is that Lockyer wouldnt be able to help knight like Johns could help a team.

i voted Lockyer though, mainly because he has is a better player but since johns hasnt played a large amount of football in 2 or 3 years the decision was a no brainer

When johns is on the field he is so much more dominate than lockyer. He has everything you want in a player:

Good speed
Great Passing
Vision(banana kick)
Hard hitter great technique.
Leaders
Accurate kicker
Goal kicker
and more.
