Kyle Chalmers or Emma McKeon? Kaylee McKeown or Mitch Larkin? Ahead of the first Olympic mixed 4x100m medley relay, we examine who Australia should pick.

How does it work?
Each country picks four swimmers - two men and two women - who will each swim a 100m leg. The four members must swim a different stroke each. The order of strokes is always the same - backstroke first, followed by breaststroke, butterfly and then freestyle to finish.
However, teams can use swimmers in any order. We could see male-female-male-female, male-male-female-female, or a completely different combination. Each team is free to pick what they feel is going to give them the greatest edge.
There are usually huge swings and multiple lead changes during these races, which is why it will be one of the most exciting on the program
