I appreciate it R20 but I just think things are better if someone who saw it can tell me. The radio only tells so much.

Also yeah with working late at night now I have trouble getting up. Don't have foxtel and I usually go to my cousins but i should be there to see the second game. Can't find any stream but tbh i'd rather see it in good quality.

Johnston scored a good try but not much else, went off injured.
Clark was the best forward, dropped the ball close to the line but not his fault, it hit the post
Turner had a few good runs and tackles, ditto tom burgess.
Sutton was a good calming influence on the the team.
Musgrove went ok
Goodwin made a break, but was run down easily. Caught out a few times in defence.
Auva'a was good
Walker was quite, a decent grubber behind the line to put pressure on the roosters his only highlight
Both mcinnes and cook got out well from dummy half and were probing, both had a shocking pass to no-one, mcinnes made a a tackle break and almost set up a try but the bounce of the ball went the wrong way over the sideline. He also had a few good hits in defence. Mcinnes won the 1st round of the hookers battle
Oldfield was average, the last try was luck

Bryson's run was 65metres:)

Thanks for that article alien.

When the Roosters got their first try they missed the kick. It was 5-4 not 7-4. The article has a slight error:lol:

Bryson won the battle with Hunt.

no worries

cowboys looking strong so far in their first game. not surprising since they picked almost all of their best players

I think Cowboys will win it.

Alien we only missed 4 tackles.

Cody missed 2.

Cam missed 1.

Sutto missed 1.

Johnston, Goodwin and Auva'a all made line breaks:cool:

Oi alien, how was Bryson in defence???

Triple M said AJ is fine. He just slightly jarred the shoulder. Nothing serious.

Also for this arvo:

Storm $1.56

Souths $2.43

AJ has a twinge in his shoulder. They said he probably won't play in the other game today.

Just saw the game, some good work by our boys. Pretty good defence besides some one on ones.

1. Alex Johnston

Did pretty well while he was on the field and good to see some strength and power in his try.

2. Michael Oldfield

Was kind of quiet and a bit lazy in the Burgess try, but made up for it with the match winner. Is gonna have to work harder to keep a spot.

3. Bryson Goodwin

Great start to the game with a 50 metre break. Didn't see too much else of him though.

5. Cameron McInnes

Very strong game by Cam, did well in attack and was a monster in defence. The Nines really suits him.

6. Cody Walker

Mixed bag with Cody. Terrible miss on Joseph Manu which lead to a try but made up for it with his great set up for Auva'a's try. Very quiet in the second half.

8. John Sutton

As usual was a calming influence for the team and really showed his experience. Will be invaluable.

9. Thomas Burgess

Some great runs and great defence by Tom, definitely helped prevent the Roosters from making any metres.

11. Jason Clark

Great game from Clarky who was in the top 3 players on the field. Almost bagged a try and made some good metres and tackles.

15. Kirisome Auva’a

Put in a lot of effort in trying to get the ball over the line and chasing kicks, was stuck on the wing most of the game.

Interchange:

7. Damien Cook

Some good vibes from Cook when he was on, helped spark the attack and cleaned up a kick from Burgess which would have lead to a try.

10. Kyle Turner

Solid up the middle in both attack and defence with Tom and Clarky.

12. Paul Carter

Made some good runs up the middle and threw the ball a bit around too. Keen to see what he can really do.

16. Hymel Hunt

Had some solid runs in the second half, got a bit iffy in defence but held his own.

18. Zane Musgrove

Some very big runs from the big man and made some big tackles. Dropped the pill but it can be forgiven for his effort.

Overall not a bad effort. We can do much better but I'm happy with the result and the way the boys played. Keen to see how we measure up agains the Storm.

The forwards have been great it's up to Sutton Cody and the outside backs to really capitalise. Probably should have scored more points but it was the first game and there's time for improvement.

One thing that is noticible with our team is a lack of pace and zip - maybe it is early but let's see how they go in later matches

when the nines squad was announced i thought there should have been more backs/less forwards

Was good to see AJ step & break a few tackles and score a try. As opposed to being on the end of a gift pass.
