The rot started with a dud coach who showed Soward the door, followed by an ok interim coach who went on for 5 ? seasons.
In particular was allowing someone on serious sexual assault charges, since not exactly aquitted, tying up our cap and 2 years o speculations. His attending the BBQ should have been enough to turf him, Yes I know he is currently one of our only decent forwards but I can't cheer him.
The dickhead parade continues. Hammer boy should have been shown the door, instead he has become an incumbent despite being pretty useless this year.
Bird, what to make of him, he always seems to be not right for where ever the coach puts him. After his comments last week turf him.
I envy Penrith fans who not only have a team that wins but play with flair and aren't being arrested after the game.
My wife hates football but made a rare comment the other night as Penrith were flogging the Roosters, "They seem disciplined"
Of course she knows nothing according to Bird, me neither,
I was not a Hook hater until even recently.
Now I think Hook is either delusional, tired and useless at best or pernicious at worst.
Currently Hook is destroying whatever potential is in the young ones at the club. I guess who ever is managing the joint is equally culpable.

I felt like we were building towards something at the end of 2018, but our win-loss record since the JDB incident is 37-65 (36% wins). Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but at that point in time the board needed to make a tough decision about what this club stands for. Unfortunately, that has festered into a culture of apathy and untouchable-ness and the board is still not able to make tough decisions now.

The rot started at the end of 2012 Price's first year which he showed how incapable he was. The team was labelled as soft They were embarrassing to watch after 2012 until Price left. The aging Willie Mason made fun of the forwards which said it all.
Mary did ok, much better than Price as he had Saints in the 8 and snagged a couple of finals appearances but proved not capable of much more. They at least were no longer soft. JDB certainly killed his career as it went downhill from there.

Saints then went for experience and went for a guy sacked from a club coming 4th which people found strange at the time. After the negative press on Hook, Saints fans thought he may have been hard done by (me included) and really wanted him to prove that the people bagging him were out of line. Unfortunately it never happened. He turned out to be far worse than Mary and Price. The moment he wanted to re-sign Norman after the season he had, it more or less told the story for the 2 years that followed.

So from Price creating the softest team, to Mary giving us the pretenders to Hook providing us the dumbest team in the comp. 3 really really bad choices.

What is sad in all this period that went bye, Saints had an assistant to Mary in Demitriou who achieved everything as an assistant in guiding the reserve team to success and become the best team in Aust winning the GF against the best team in Qld and yet that was not good enough for Saints. He is now instead coaching Souths who are sitting 1st and the Saints are 16th.

Yes Demitriou was a loss and many thought that at the time
