You sound like a salt of the earth Aussie Possm- well done for sharing with us about the medical condition- I for one, (and I have a pretty strong medical background) had not heard of pinks disease- but even better your thinking of others by way of your work with the charity. On behalf of the Dragon Army on this forum, I salute you.
Well said .......

I am not ashamed to say that my eyes are now shot. I have 3% vision and 5% field tunnel in my left and no vision in my right eye. I listen to other forum members' posts using the read-aloud function in Windows.

I contracted a disease soon after being born at Buli Hospital. This disease is called pinks disease; a sporadic disease in Australia. It was carried by a lady from England who was giving birth at the same time as my mum, in the same ward. Babies had bright pink skin on their hands and feet, thus the name Pinks disease.

The remedy at the time was for the baby to be given a special medicine that over a week or so, returned the baby's skin to normal colour however, all babies who contracted the disease at Buli Hospital in June 1954 ended up with this same eye complaint which was a result of the medical treatment to return the hands and feet to normal colour.

A black background with blue text helps me write my posts and as I stated above I use read-aloud to listen to your text.

I have followed the Dragons all my life but rarely go to the game anymore as I can't see any action. At home, I have a huge TV and computer screen and you would certainly laugh out loud if you saw me with my nose right up next to the screen and moving my head around the screen trying to catch some of the action.

I have 5 kids and 5 grandkids with another on the way. On fathers day we play Beep Cricket together.

For the past 9 years I have been the President of a charity named Blind Bats Inc. https://blindbats.org/ and invented the game of Beep Cricket and yes also invented a beeping cricket ball for the game.

Although 69 years of age, I play Beep Cricket every Sunday. This is a very popular All-Ability game with players who have a variety of abilities.

Well there now, the secret is out!
Good on you Possum. Your a legend and we are lucky to have you and your strong opinions :) Congratulations on your beautiful family too.

Thank you all for your kind words. But to tell you the truth, I have lived a full and successful life and am glad that I have the will and experience to do what I'm doing in my retirement.

This forum is what I look forward to when I have free time.
Mate I haven't been here as long as others but I do know one thing, the place wouldn't be the same without you, all the best to you.

MS... reported in the media could look around for a better deal.
Surely, whatever it takes to win AFB's signature is what we must do. He is a significant part of the change we are looking for. Then Dearden for Hunt would be an easy one. After these two deals, we still should have enough to complete Flano's wish list. I'm not sure what everyone else on here thinks, but I am most worried about these two deals.

After that Fullback and hooker seem to be the next most urgent for 2024. We do have enough young talent who, with AFB and Dearden could take us into the top 4. It will all depend on how fit and dedicated the current players will be in 2024.

If we can tame his off-field behavior, Curtis Scott with Flannagan's intervention could be a bargain buy on a two-year deal. This may release Lomax or Suli to be moved to fullback or the second row respectively. I personally would like to see Suli in the 11 jumper and Couchman in 17 off the bench.

We need to shake things up and make changes if we truly want a change in the direction of our club.

Absolutely won't be happening. Media hysteria again. Titans having upgraded Tino, Fifita and Fotuaika were said to have fallen out of any sort of race for Hunt as they can't afford him anymore. Releasing Treymain Spry hardly assists them in affording Hunt's $900k a year deal. Not to mention Flanno won't be letting him leave, that much is clear. I honestly think he'll see out his contract.

Hey Baggygreen. Please help an old fart like me using an iPad who is computer illiterate. How do I change my text colour to blue?
HI OWD

When you want to post something like replying to possm, you should see B I tT and then 3 perpendicular dots. Press on the dots and it shows options of which one is a paint tray of sort which you press on and then it gives you an array of colours for you to choose from. The blue is the light one obviously.

Good luck.
Cheers

I agree Parko.

It is extremely unlikely that Hunt will leave us in 2024 as Flanno will not entertain this as you say and I think he would like his son to play alongside Hunt to learn more and Flanno I think knows that the combination will work.

Hunt would still have another year of his contract with us in 2025 which he himself took up that option. He is currently 33 , turns 34 in March 2024 and then in 2025 he will be 35. I really don't think that he would be wanted by any club for the price he might seek at that age even if he was to drop his asking price to $600,000. At best, another club would only be prepared to sign him for a year til 2026 when he turns 36 - what would be the use?

I'm hoping that Flanno will be able to get the type of players that he needs for us to be top 8 in 2025 and once we get these players I feel that Hunt will see out his contract with us and then retire in Queensland and maybe get a gig as assistant coach up that way somewhere.
