as players right now - sure. that doesn't take into account how both the parra boys are on way more than the dragons boys, are older and closer to decline
Bird is one knee injury away from retirement and Lawrie, unfortunately the game has gone past him, been very underwhelming this year.

RCG last week played 69 mins and ran for 206m. Not too shabby for an old chap on the decline

I kept an eye on RGC last week, mostly because he looked a little tubby around the middle (love handles), but he certainly put in.
He's still signed for 2025 - beyond that, age may become a factor

o I dont think there is any way for us to offload Lawrie in Australia.. maybe the UK but i bet they'll pick up bugger all.. I honestly think were going to need to pay out a 2yr contract if we want his Top30 slot back.. its that or we just have to keep him in reserves and lose Fifita, but ideally we lose both.

o The longer Matterson & Sivo stay at parra the better our chances of extracting someone we actually want from them. (i.e. RCG or Blaize)

o And Bird, true 1 injury and he retires but for right now were kinda stuck with him.. but he is depth.. but he does overlap with shuster and he overlaps with Max Feagai.. who I think Flanno wants to retain.. so I just see more players we need to offload.. Bird could be 1 of em..

We have enough roadblocks without adding more like Feagai

Ok, forget about a trade.
We need a prop like RCG and if possible another of similar quality.

Lawrie and Bird can play reserve grade until their contracts expire.

Next off-season the focus will be on Fifita and Couchman to step up.

1. Allen
2. Tuipulotu
3. Matt Fegai
4. Suli
5. Ravalawa
6. Hunt
7. Flanagan
8. Molo

9. Cook
10. RCG

11. RFM
12. Su'A
13. De Belin

14. Liddle
15. Fifita
16. Couchman
17. Leilua

Not a bad side if all are keen and super fit.

I think Bird will play a part to finish the season.... someone mentioned the #14 utility jersey is his to lose, but in terms of 2025, I think Flanno knows its time to get some younger legs... but the guy has a contract currently... and I doubt other clubs will jump to make him an offer. Bird is probably our depth in nsw cup.. though I think Flanno would prefer Max.

But long how has this damn blaize thing taken, I thought we had him wrapped up in April...

Sounds like there will be an answer from both Talagi brothers soon.
Ryles is reportedly meeting with them both this weekend, and with offers from the Dragons, Dolphins and possibly Penrith already on the table, decision time looks to be soon.
I read one report earlier saying that even if Blaize decides to stay at Parramatta, the Dragons will still pursue his younger brother Ryda.
