Move over couch potatoes; couch men are movin' in.Couchmans have officially re-signed until 2027 , announced on website
This is great news for the Dragons. The twins extending is some of the best news I've heard recently. Those 2 are the future. Imagine them, Halangahu, and LPT in a few years, headed by Su'a as their leader... That's a sight to behold
With suction hands Hunt gone, the twins may actually get to handle the ball more than the twice per game.Couchmans have officially re-signed until 2027 , announced on website
More good news! A pleasure to read over the two recent departures!!Both Couchmans have been extended until the end of 2027
Well they were always the dark horse, similar to the rorters plan of snaring their target - they say nothing and pounce on their man at the last moment , leaving the other contenders crying in their beer .
Anyone who knows their footy could have predicted this. He was a dud from day one. Blake has never been NRL standard. Never. It boggles my mind that people still defend this very very average footballer. There are many things for which club admin/footy dept could be criticised forsince Bennett left but not for extending a local junior who was regarded as the club's best player in 2023 and captained the team once or twice. Who could have predicted that he would become the least valuable prop in 2024?

Hindsight is wonderful. Lawrie was probably our best forward when he re-signed and was linked to the Rabbitohs and Dolphins. Rava was also our best winger at the time, was (and still is) young and resigning him made sense then. Of all our the clubs ineptitude, I don't blame them much for resigning these two - they simply just don't fit in with Flanagan's style of play now.The mismanagement of re-signing both Lawrie and Ravalawa until 2026 is going to continue to hinder the roster until they leave isn't it...both need to be told they will be banished to reserve grade and try to force them out of the club.
Every club has a couple of players they signed for too long and are trying to get rid of. At least these two are not top earners. The mismanagement of re-signing both Lawrie and Ravalawa until 2026 is going to continue to hinder the roster until they leave isn't it...both need to be told they will be banished to reserve grade and try to force them out of the club.
Your comments are correct i just dont think a 3 year deal is appropriate for players of their level. 2yrs absolute max. Lawrie had a one out stand out year but couldnt maintain that form in 2024. Irrespective the ball is in both their courts now to play significantly better in 2025 at least to the 2023 form or preferably better otherwise they will be seeing a lot of the reserve grade coach.Hindsight is wonderful. Definitely, my view is clubs panicked when the Dolphins came into the competition & all a player manager had to say was there was interest from them & we like others signed players on longer term deals than they should have to keep them. Lawrie & Rav are perfect examples of that. But i do agree with your last comment at least we have Flanno to deal with what he was handed when he took over.Every club has a couple of players they signed for too long and are trying to get rid of. At least these two are not top earners.
Anyway, I’d back Flanagan to find a solution at some point.
