Just watching an Interview with Ciraldo where he calls the Dogs a development club.

Looking at their top 17 who have they developed?

Hayes / Hayward yes.

Possibly Montoya and Preston could be considered developed?

Doesn’t look like a development club to me

I always thought Kyle would be given a shot at 7 this year, but unless Illias fails, it appears unlikely.
So, 2026 what do we do with Kyle, assuming Illias kicks on?
KF's efforts, to me, dictates he is in the team, but where?
14? but what about Liddle and Cook?
Lock? We appear to be well and truly covered

Perhaps Liddle may miss out?
( I love Liddle, more than Cook, but there is end of contract timing)

Maybe it's my bias and dislike of the Dogs speaking but there's something very distasteful about this current Dogs rise to the top. No doubt they bought their way to it, which is fine, but any team with a grub as a captain in Crichton is no team I can get behind. Mahoney, Xerri...question marks galore over these type of characters. And more than that, the whole Gouldness makes me cringe. Not for me, thank you.

Not sure Flanno has the same appreciation, and unfortunately I wouldn’t be surprised to see KF at hooker next year. Still lots to consider with the halves this year though

I think later in the year we will be thinking about how Ilias is tracking, and whether hes our 7 for next season... I expect that he will be, and that Kyle will float into 13, 14 or reserve grade for 2026.. providing essential injury cover in a range of positions..

If Liddle doesnt stay on.. then yeah I guess the 2026 hooker rotation is Cook + Kyle, and we will be looking to sign another for 2027... hopefully he does stay on though.. i.e. hopefully hes happy.. I dont think fans take the word 'impact' seriously, the reason Leilua and Liddle have been turning games is they are coming on fresh against tired defenders.. there is no shame in that.. and we're not winning many games without it.. Cook is probably retiring end of 2026 also...

Just me I'd keep Liddle over Cook .........

Liddle over Cook any day of the week. Cook would be a steadying influence as a reserve grade Captain next year with the young talent coming through. This should be his last in the NRL.

Exactly this and in addition to created rather than genuinely earned team history. Borderline ghetto area of Sydney whose best part is the exit.

Not too fussed with Latu leaving. Can't keep them all and we have other young forwards coming through like Halangalau etc we will be fine. Why the dogs though? Poor bugger
