Let’s be honest we haven’t really gone hard for a better half….. Fogharty, DCE, Sandon Smith, Pezet… some on here say there haven’t been many player movements… as listed above there have been at least 4 quality halves on the market…. we seem contented to go with what we have…. hope it works out for us
In the extended interview with Ando he said his own strength re identifying talent is in the area of halves and props

Minimal feedback to Lachie after 11 wins in a row in Cup

does that mean no feedback from Ryan, Dean nor Flano?

I don’t think Lachie was the answer and personally though he just “ok” in cup

but that is concerning we don’t have an in built mandatory feedback loop session after every game for every player.

pretty sure the Swans use the
    • 360-degree feedback: Some clubs incorporate a "360-degree feedback" system, where players receive input not only from coaches but also from their teammates, which can be confrontational but is considered crucial for development.

Players can just read this forum for their "360 degree feedback".

No feedback has been an ongoing theme in this club since Mary was coach. Reached it's peak with Hook. Jack Gosiweski and George Burgess both vocal about not getting any feedback on what they needed to work on. Could be construed as sour grapes, or favouritism, or plain poor management. Take your pick.

Risky Stuart and Adam Reynolds debuted at age 21, cooper Cronk age 20. Basically basing someone’s readiness off Sam walker is stupid. Everyone’s different, and those halves that are older shit all over Sam walker.
Not to mention that the people who use Walker as an example conveniently forget that he struggled for consistency and was dropped to go back and improve his game. At one point he was the NRL's second worst error maker in the halves and in the bottom four for try assists.
I (begrudgingly) love him watching him play now as his eyes up footy is second to none but it took quite a while before he became a consistent player, and maybe still has a bit to go.
Imagine if we threw Reed out there now and he struggled. I'm happy to trust the coaches on when they think he's ready. If 2025 proved anything it was that Flanagan wasn't scared of giving players a debut if he thought they were ready.

Not to mention he had a multiple premiership winning half in Luke Keary there as the calm older head to help him. Cleary too with Maloney. It's all well and good for people to use these players as examples, but you need to remember the context of their debut year to understand the big picture. I'm not sure partnering Reed with someone like Flanagan is going to do him any good for his development.

Or was the coach forced ? If there wasn't so many injuries i doubt many would have debuts.

How many on here have seen Reed play....from memory he has played 1 KOE cup match and the rest in Flegg and Ball. We don't have much to go and yet many pushing for first grade already...he may prove to be a winner but let him prove himself in KOE for at least half a season..

I've watched Reed for a couple of seasons across SG/Flegg/Cup, hes an immense talent and seems to get better with better players around him.. for example, he has a real connection with Heidke when they play together... but.. hes just a kid learning stuff still.. definitely Flegg look a lot better with him in the side, but they still had a poor season.. and the 1 token game in cup was also a loss.. its such a clear difference between him and Glover who is maybe 3yrs older and had 2yrs cup experience against men.. very different.

Dont think that Reed is some sort of prodigy though.. hes not the next Nathan Cleary or Sam Walker.. hes just got potential to be a first grade 7 in time.. the closest match is a Mitch Moses, but Mitch probably had the better running game.. kicking game im not sure but I really like Reeds, thats his strength... I hope it can grow into something like Mitches.

But its very hard for fans to remain patient.. literally 2 more years before he gets to Glovers level of rookie experience.. 2 more years... 2028... and hes a rookie 7... he will play first grade before then.. but patience.. we need another first grade 7 before Reed will be ready to take over... even then Reed might play 6 for a while.

When Glover becomes the rabbits first choice number 7 and the rabbits are in the top 8 who in the dragons coaching/recruitment team will lose their job?
