A lot is talked about we need a half including myself. As a matter of fact the only half we currently have is Reed and he will not be pushed to FG as he is still growing, Flanno, LKT and Atkinson are all Five Eights.

The reason we cannot sign a half for 2026 are
1. There is no half of note in the market.
2. When a half comes to the market it is most of the time their end of career like DCE, Reynolds, etal. In such cases they are gobbled up by Roosters, Broncos, etc.
3. Even if a half comes to the market it will be for 2027 based on NRL rules

Finally we did sign 2 halves in previous years (Volkman and Ilias) and in both cases it turned out to be a failure. Similarly we tried to develop Bud Sullivan and that did not work out either. Sullivan is finally finding his footing at South now and mainly as no 14 from Bench.

So for 2026, we have to see which combination will work for us (Flanno/Atkinson/LKT).
Letting Clover and Ilias go, opens the door for Reed to get NRL experience at lower grades and maybe get a call to FG if there is suspension, injury, etc.

It most certainly would blacksafake, , however I often wondered about the B&H - big wigs , they must had been rubbing their hands with glee at the tremendous amount of free advertising that Harry gave them whenever he went for his pack .

Good summary if not overly positive. We tried for Metcalf for example, but it is hard for us to land someone atm. We got Hunt (sorry) and we got Widdop… we may get more players sooner or later …at least it should get easier if we can keep developing the pack we currently have

Ample opportunities? Ha! Ilias only got 7 games of which the team won 3. After that with the coach’s son at half they won just 5 from 17.

Ah the cute stupidity of this "wittyfan" who clearly doesn't know what they're talking about. Change your name to "witlessfan" and you might be close.
1. Of those first seven games, Ilias lost us two after we were up by 12 points with the win in the bag with his woeful game management and terrible kicking game. We would have won 5 from the first 7 if he only vaguely competently did his job.
2. Go and watch this years NSW cup grand final. You'll see on full display every single reason why 2 NRL coaches in a row dropped Ilias and why Wayne Bennett didn't want him at Souffs, even as a back up.

Now, go away or I shall taunt you a second time......
