I agree with your comment for the most part but I think our problem is qe stick to the game plan to a tee. No offloads and second phase or eyes up footy. I don’t know if it’s been coached out of them but we are the most predictable team in the compI think fitness is a smaller part of it but you are correct. Watching Penrith as the standard - literally have the close-to-perfect game at the moment - their players are smart, aware and alert in each moment. They run with purpose, and watch the oncoming defence, thinking ahead rather than reacting at the last moment. They are not all necessary superstars but when the bulk of the team is playing with this mentality, tenacity and confidence they make each other more impactful players, and feed off each other. With this they make the bounce of the ball and 50/50 moments go their way - with the energy they bring and the masterful way their halfback keeps the ball on a string.
Us in comparison. Lots of one out stuff, not very supportive of or instinctive about one another or the opposition, and usually do something panicked, erratic, or just wait for someone else to do it. We have been like this for years. Tiny bits of spark or physicality but no real plan or concentration.
Assume you mean Atkinson. Yes seems like he has some ability but ideally we should have paired him with someone like Fogherty for a couple of years while Reed was getting ready.
He isn’t our Nathan Cleary answer as a halfback to steer the team around and as much as I’ve backed Shane in the past, his nepotism is getting in the way of making the right call in relation to out halves. Atkinson needs to go to 5/8 and Reed to come in at half.So let me ask you this Since77. If we can all see this, the need for Atkinson to be a running #6, with a proper #7 in play, why can't Flanagan? It's dogs ball mate. We are trying to turn a running #6 into an organising #7. Bloody hard ask.Meh. It's Atkinson by the way.
People forget how good he was for the Sharks in '24 and that several clubs were chasing him at the time we signed him.
Put the 6 on his back and a proper halfback next to him and he'll be fine.
He only did it to take the pressure of his son.So let me ask you this Since77. If we can all see this, the need for Atkinson to be a running #6, with a proper #7 in play, why can't Flanagan? It's dogs ball mate. We are trying to turn a running #6 into an organising #7. Bloody hard ask.
I don’t think of anyone who can kick as long as Atko into the Corners at the DragonsSo let me ask you this Since77. He had lots of chancess last season and did zilch.Well LKT gets a realistic chance to show if he is up to it over the next 2-3 weeks.
Kyle has had more then 100 chances and is still bog average. LKT deserves a chance with a real coach before throwing him into the sand pitHe had lots of chancess last season and did zilch.
Out with hamstring tightness.Quick change of topic not sure anyone watches rugby but Lomax has his first game for the reds in 5 min. More interesting then Broncos titans
OK, LKT can stay in reserve-grade and learn his trade.Kyle has had more then 100 chances and is still bog average. LKT deserves a chance with a real coach before throwing him into the sand pit
