George Burgess in talks with Dragons about a comeback following successful hip surgery.

Nice work from the Sharkies to jump in and pluck that one from under everyone's noses.
He who hesitates is lost. He's got a touch of Peachey about him too. Well done !
Cronulla beat us with what they have got already. Under Fitzgibbon and the signings of Hynes and possibly Finucane and the resigning of Johnson, Rudolf etc they will kill us next year. They will be well and truly top 6 and maybe top 4 material next year.

Rumour that we are talking to George "Fumbles" Burgess. Another oldie who can be hard to stop when he gets going, but that's it, he has to get going. If he bring back form near to his better days then that would be good. Will his heart be with the Dragons though as Griffin wants our players to be?

I couldn’t imagine that he would have too much left in him Dave as he has been carrying his mob ever since his big brother left the club . Sincerely hope that we miss the boat with him , there has to be another player that the Dragons can go after .

Wayne Bennett let George leave the Bunnies for a reason. He’s a liability & a grub....we already have one of those & don’t need another.

I'm sick and tired of the media saying we are going for this player and that player and making us look like we are always desperate. The problem is that there are players that we want and need but are those players actually interested in us and we continue to get the rejects and dead end players. Maybe we are desperate?

We know that Dufty is on the outer and by the sounds of things Hynes wasn't in our radar as told by Griffin. So who is there that has all the full back smarts that Hook wants in a full back when there are not that many available? Hook cannot say that he is relying on Ramsey or Sloan to have all of the skills that a full back should have as they really have not been tried and tested fully (Sloan in particular) in first grade.

Our spine rates well and truly down the list as compared to many of the top 5 teams and this area we have to improve greatly for the future together with tough and durable no nonsense forwards who could take control against any opposition team. That is what we need but are we doing this?

Now that JDB’s contract is active once again , then it has probably taken a big chunk out of the Dragons spending capacity . But by my calculations there is still $850k - at least - that is or should be available for recruitment .

The club is crying out for a true quality player , one that can bring the much needed skills to the team , for once may recruitment find and secure such an individual.

Calm down everyone.

The press article distinctly says Burgess is talking to a "non" Sydney Club.
I'd take Burgess, every day of the week.
When you look at the
Reserve grade quality we have in our pack.

True, but he has had a
"As they put it"
An informal meeting
with the Dragons.
I'd take him in a heart beat. A 29yr old true front row forward.
Way in front of anything we've acquired in recent times.
