Is it just me? Everybody admires Hunt but I'm sure I've seen him staring daggers and rolling his eyes when the young guys have made mistakes. I think the experienced captain failing to give the young blokes unwavering support and encouragement on the field is more psychologically damaging than anything else.

I am not saying that is indeed the case however the Rorters JWH and Victor Radley gave young Walker a bit of a dressing down after an apparent error the other night during play .

I found their reactions rather odd considering that he has been responsible for so much of their attacking prowess over the last couple of seasons .

However you are certainly correct in what you say Mojo , that the young fellas require as much encouragement as is required to give them the necessary confidence to move on to greater heights .

100 % correct. He needs to nurture the young ones.Provide encouragement and positive advice.
When you are Captain its about the team and looking to help the club develop players for the future.
If he was looking at the best interest of the club he would offer to play hooker which is one of our key problem areas and allow Amone/Sullivan to develop a combination under his leadership.
He can play a Cam Smith role and be instrumental in directing the point of attack from dummy half guiding the young halves.
We do not need to buy a hooker we have one that plays for Queensland in that position.
Ben or maybe the coach needs to realise that for our team his best position is hooker and leave the two young halves to develop a combination.

It may be just you and unless you watch Hunt so closely for 80 mins each week how do you know he does not support and encourage. Initial reactions in the heat of the moment you cant hide.
You must miss the times though he pats Amone on the back and trying to gee him up etc
Not saying he is the best captain but one thing he leads by example most of the time

Ramsay also has expressed his admiration for Hunt in interviews and has stated he would do anything for him. So I'd say he definitely has an influence on the young players and is indeed spending time nurturing them.
