I was born in the Rosslyn Hospital Arncliffe and my first 12 months were in the Herne Bay settlement.

Whilst not a family photo this is certainly typical of the camp of which my 2 elder brothers have memories of.

Shortly after we relocated to the new HC estate in Peakhurst and remained there until mid 70's (mum & dad had purchased the house and ultimately sold and went to the ACT) so I then flew the coup to rent a half house in Carrington St Hurstville basically backing onto Dora Street near Hurstville Oval.

My land lady there was the favourite aunty of the great Harry Wells (real name Wills) who used to visit from time to time and was a lovely bloke.

Whilst there found a lost dog at Kurnell and couldn't keep him at the half a house so then moved to Kingsgrove and rented a house off Ron Bramley the local (actually lived in Lugarno) real estate agent.

Been a St George die hard my entire life and no doubt some of the other older guys will also remember the wonderful school holiday footy camps at the mighty Kogarah Jubilee
Oval.

For me I came into the world at King George V hospital at Camperdown . My first memory was of the Army Barracks at Merrylands , the semi-circular corrugated steel huts where we lived until I was about 3 years of age whilst Dad scraped enough money together for a deposit on a new Housing Commission home at Dundas Valley .

All bush in those days , the house came with the complimentary red belly back snake and the odd goanna lizard as well as the steam train at Carlingford station .

O.T. the photo in your post immediately brought me back to those days except that the roofs on your units were on a 45 degree angle . Tough times then , but kids being kids could still enjoy life and perhaps made them realize that life wasn’t always going to be smooth sailing .

Just reported via DT

Three way swap set to take place

Jake Clifford to Newcastle Knights
Adam Clune to North Queensland Cowboys
Josh McGuire to St George Illawarra

Club also still in talks with Andrew Fifita who will take up one of two roster spots left

Still don't see why we would need Fifita AND McGuire when we have signed Molo up for next season and have Vaughn, Lawrie, Alvaro and Faamausili. One more middle forward is surely all we would require.

Yes , the swap will have its advantages in that regard . Plus Adam will fit straight into their first grade side , rather than being only a replacement at the Dragons .

Best of luck to the man .
At the end of the day these blokes play for x amount of time and they all want to play 1st grade, some are lucky and others not so. If an opportunity opens at the Cows for a starting spot then I say good luck Cluney and grab it with both hands. We can’t hold him back if there’s a chance for him especially with Sullivan nearing a gig in 1st grade and plenty of back up between Hunt, Bird etc

I have a feeling Hunt’s injury will be closer to 6 weeks & not 4 in any case why rush him back it’s a long season. A broken femur doesn’t heal overnight.

if the trade reported does happen then I’m fine backing in Sullivan to cover until Hunt returns, there’s always Bird who could cover in the halves if needed.

More important to me McGuire gets settled in & can start making a difference to our middle.

Just on a side note - rather odd that there is talk of a Bennett / Brisbane reunion next year and low and behold the Broncos are suddenly interested in Adam Reynolds ?
