Yes but it is not 20,000 members parting with their hard earned for the whole year in the sense of real membership.
It includes the token free memberships given out to boys and girls at schools across the region and others linked to sponsors. (which is a good idea to try and drum support mind you)
+ if someone buys a 3-4 game pass to matches. That is a member
This happens at a lot of clubs a few years ago some mates of mine went to a Roosters v Bulldogs match were offered Roosters membership it was cheaper to become a member than to pay admission to the game this was on Roosters last home game for the year they were given merchandise as well all being Dogs supporters they gave it all away some put in the rubbish bin.

Totally agree Dave, blaming Illawarra or St George isn't going to change anything, all it gives us is a chance to vent our displeasure which everyone is entitled to. All we can hope for is that decisions at the top are made with the best intention of the Dragons as a total, and for christ sake do some due diligence before that decision is made.

What gets me is that Hook sat at the presser and blatantly said he had heard of no unrest within the camp !!! With everything that is now going on wouldnt you think we would hear from people like Hook, Flanno, Webb ANYONE of some note, to put whatever rumours to bed. Their failure to say or do anything only heightens the fact that they are true, for christ sake stand up and do something !!!

We were very good at keeping everything in house.

Understand there are different channels however, after all the unrest over our signed players, it seems it could become open season for the other clubs.

from a die hard steelers supporter from day 1 - look i don't like the way things have been for over a decade either.

we were all promised a super club - ha, what a joke.

personally haven't spent a cent on jumpers or refuse to attend games now.

please don't blame the illawarra side of the joint venture - without the illawarra we wouldn't of won in 2010 - look how many of our juniors were in that team.

you also may laugh - or even abuse me - you know what side will end up as a stand alone if the joint venture gets pulled apart?

...it won't be the st. george side..
I don't blame Illawarra. No way. I used to love watching them play and I would have loved for them to keep going in their own right. It was the only time in the comp that I would say I had a second side that I supported (still wanted Saints to win when they met each other though). As you rightly point out, we won a premiership in 2010. What was different? Great coach and the Board told not to interfere with the management of the footy side.

I think there's no denying that a JV structure must make it extra difficult to run a footy club though.

The rumour is that there's not a snowflake's hope in hell of returning to the good old days though - but a few small changes (at the top) could see it happen in 2023! The great thing about rumours is that they don't need to be supported by facts, just imagination.

The only rumor, and this is a set in concrete one, is mt beloved club and team are badly managed, we are broke and have little chance of making our fifth finals on the trot.

Our board has to go from Craig Young down if we are to arrest this looming crisis. Webb is as bad a CEO as was Doust.
Based on ? Judging him based on the football clubs on field shemozzle is a tad unfair. He has got the club in the black for once and is part of why we will have a COE . Agree that he needs to be pusshing for the reboot of football operations over next 12 months , if the Board let him. If they don't his history shows he will move on and not take a pay cheque for a cushy job like a lot at the Dragons.

We sure are , and that's my only basis ( or hope ) that something is happening behind the scenes rectify this crap. Call me delusional but look the word up and you see a photo of a Dragons supporter !
