1.2m for Manu is obviously overs and probably abt 400k pa more than what the Rorters would be able to pay ( not incl paper bag) so I’m thinking he may be swayed. The beauty of his signing would be that he could attract other quality signings. The only players whinger attracted were has been broncos mates.
Sloan to the wing with his speed would be a good move as well.
All talk for now but at least we know that our coach is not chasing garbage
Joey Manu in the top 3 players in the world for me.. can play 1,3,6 equally as good.. would make the happiest guy in the world .. make it happen

We are finally talking seriously about players that could make a massive difference to our side unlike others in the past. Flanno knows what we need to be a serious threat in the future & he will attract the better players, it wont all happen in one year but he has an end goal which I will love to watch as we build towards a great side again !

I don't know how the journos know what amount a club is prepared to offer a player but I guess they have the senses closer to the grindstone than us. If we are one of the clubs who would be happy to fork out the big bucks for a player like Manu, we must have plenty of coin in the kitty to make a significant offer for Manu's services. It would be great of course, but when this sort of article openly comes out for many of league followers to see, then I have a feeling that we will not end up with him. Most of our signings are kept on the quiet until they are confirmed officially in the website and on Fridays. Maybe expect something Friday week.

In the case of Brailey, I know that he is close to the Flanagans family, like Connor Tracey is but I read that Brailey is wanted by the Knights and is not going anywhere and he is still under contract to the end of 2025. He would be a great pick-up for us, but lets see what the Dragons can do.
If we sign or agree to terms with a player from outside our club from Nov 1 it can not be announced under this new 10 day cooling off period in favour of the club he is leaving incase they convince him otherwise
It can be released or announced only after the 10 day period
Different to b4 when the player had the 10 day cooling off period

At the very least we are pushing up their prices, making it harder for them to keep others. Sound tactics and I'm confident Flanno will play this game well.

My tip is that it will be Manu for fullback, Lomax for 6, and Sloan for 2.Who knows who the center to replace Lomax will be?

But our problem is our front row. So, K Flannagan to hooker and two big props to be recruited. Su'A to stay for 2024 and Couchman/Bird to share left-edge duties.

Welsby is a class player that i wouls chase for sure. I believe he would also be good at 5/8. Manu fullback and Welsby 5/8 is thmain two i would chase along with a quality front rower.

Welsby is faster than Manu and is untested in NRL. Wouldn't you want him at fullback and have a proven NRL inside back in Manu playing either ⅝ or centre? I'd be putting the best player in such a crucial position of ⅝.

No way we pay 1.2m for Manu. He made 79 missed tackles last year, his stats in defence are worse then Lomax and avg metres per game are less. I guarantee the roosters are playing the same game some suggest flanno is. Drive his price up so we pay overs and get welsby to take over from tedesco. They are alot smarter then we are. I would prefer dearden any day of the week. Lomax will improve massively under flanno, if we pay over 1mill for Manu we are screwed he is no Edwards not even close

I agree. The notion that we can ramp-up prices against clubs that are in much stronger positions to outbid us is obviously a very silly strategy. Even if we succeed in individual cases, over the medium to long term it’s just going to make the best players completely unaffordable. This meat market for RL players will ultimately cripple the sport imo.
