Also, Flanno was on Channel news tonight saying that they will be going all out to sign Joey Manu and that Ben Hunt will get the best out of Kyle. Time will tell.
KP is on roughly 1.5 a year as the highest paid player. 1 mill would be max a year worth for him (IMO slight overs) + there are better props getting around on that coin and some less. Warriors paid overs but he came good this year for them. On balance our offer is about right for where we are and will be very competitiveApparently we have ramped up our offer to AFB, im not sure what that means.. 1million over 3yrs wont remotely be enough.. thats the minimum he will be allowed to even sign for.. as hes already on 1mil a season... 1.5mil p.a. doesnt seem right..
well lets hope Flanno senior can get the best out of little benny to assisst the teamAlso, Flanno was on Channel news tonight saying that they will be going all out to sign Joey Manu and that Ben Hunt will get the best out of Kyle. Time will tell.
Haa I agree to disagreeI have faith in Flanno's ability to get more out of the players than Hook could. I just don't see we have the players (so far) to make much of a move up the ladder. Kyle Flanagan at 5/8 is an interesting one. As far as I can tell he's played most of his footy at halfback. Canterbury tried him at half, 5/8 and hooker before putting him on the bench. So I don't think he's the answer at 5/8, he certainly won't complement Ben Hunt, and Ben Hunt will hog the ball as halfback in any case. To complement Ben Hunt you need a dominant 5/8 who can over-ride Hunt, and I don't think young Flanno is the man to do that.
Great idea to employ Graham to scout. He has an influenceable personality. We should be looking in the the UK for potential signings. We should employ Widdop/Graham as scouts. I’m sure there are a few decent players looking to prove themselves in the NRL. We should sign
2-3 and really look after them, i.e. organise their accomodation, study needs etc.
Good to get it out there that we are seriously in the market. For the first time for a long timeAlso, Flanno was on Channel news tonight saying that they will be going all out to sign Joey Manu and that Ben Hunt will get the best out of Kyle. Time will tell.
Problem is he works for doggies nowGreat idea to employ Graham to scout. He has an influenceable personality.

No rival can pay less than his current contract value of 1mil (he may have TPA's on the side also), so we are offering the bare minimum.. the only way this comes off is if he is desperate to get out for 2024.. otherwise we need to go higher.KP is on roughly 1.5 a year as the highest paid player. 1 mill would be max a year worth for him (IMO slight overs) + there are better props getting around on that coin and some less. Yes if he could recruit another dick huddart, or Phil Lowe , or Adrian Morley, or cliff watson that’d be great !Great idea to employ Graham to scout. He has an influenceable personality.
I'm pretty sure if he's released from his Warriors contract we can offer whatever we like unless I'm missing a rule that states a player released from a contract must sign for minimum the amount of the previous contract. I don't think that's the case though. Once he's released we'll be allowed to offer 850-950k if we like. If it's $3 mil, it'll be $1M per year over 3 years. Other clubs probably either can't afford that/refuse to pay 1 mil for a prop. We certainly would be pricing a lot of others out of the market, I'd just be nervous if the dogs or roosters came to the table with say 850k offers because we'd be at risk of losing out still. No rival can pay less than his current contract value of 1mil (he may have TPA's on the side also), so we are offering the bare minimum.. the only way this comes off is if he is desperate to get out for 2024.. otherwise we need to go higher.
I'm positive the NRL require the same contract, they even mentioned it on podcasts today, i.e. if he wants to stay registered in the NRL, it has to be the same value (market value), not sure if we can go higher (maybe we cant)... its what stops the roosters of this world from destabilising and cherry picking players out of other clubs.I'm pretty sure if he's released from his Warriors contract we can offer whatever we like unless I'm missing a rule that states a player released from a contract must sign for minimum the amount of the previous contract. I thought it was just sort of what his market value would reasonably be. I'd say another club offering him say 900k would be reasonable and probably about market value. If you do have to offer $1m at least though, then I can't see anyone matching us and he'd be ours by defaultI'm positive the NRL require the same contract, they even mentioned it on podcasts today, i.e. if he wants to stay registered in the NRL, it has to be the same value (market value), not sure if we can go higher (maybe we cant)... its what stops the roosters of this world from destabilising and cherry picking players out of other clubs.
In this case it does make cap cheating more difficult for the Roosters, Dogs, Sharks etc.. because its 1mil on the books no exceptions.. but I put nothing past the Guses and Nicks of this world.. I feel like our only real shot is to get him early before the other clubs can offload players and/or AFB changes his mind.. 12mths is a long long time.
Note: I dont know if the Warriors also need to agree to the contract and hence could ask for a player swap.
Gosh how did I miss that. Thats a bit yucky then isn't it.Problem is he works for doggies now
I hope you're right.Haa I agree to disagree
When he was at gummies he was smart and quite fast off the mark
I’m thinking if they play on two sides of the ruck they would complement each other as he has a halfback’s brain
And his father would play his part
Just a thought
Still waiting for his English club to release him.Has Taukeiaho been confirmed anywhere yet? Was supposedly locked in with the Dogs but there's been no confirmation, and they've since signed Josh Curran. He's past his best perhaps but with Kerr and Musgrove both gone we seem short of experience in the middle
agree..... just a Malcolm Reilly type would do nicely!Yes if he could recruit another dick huddart, or Phil Lowe , or Adrian Morley, or cliff watson that’d be great !
