I must admit I'm not possibly looking at the whole picture here, the Hunt vs Whoever has always been my guage. Simply because when Hunt needed to produce, he didn't and made the other halves look like immortals. Overall I'm happy to accept other formites opinions on players with more astute knowledge than me. But at the end of the day, we will have to get someone and all that matters is that Flanno is happy with that. There have now been so many options and grenades thrown into the mix that who knows what we are looking at, maybe thats the way Flanno wants it.

Yes, even this morning on Sky Sports Flanno didn't elaborate on any particular person who he is looking at signing in the halves and re-iterated on what he has said in other interviews that he is not over anxious at this stage and will give it a bit more time on the half back signing.

Thats right Dave only he would know. One thing though listening to him on the radio would have made me wonder what our GM and R+R manager are doing, or even if we have them. This is why I come to the conclusion that the board have allowed Flanno to do what he wants, within reason of course :) but primarily I haven't noticed any roadblocks they are putting up. God only knows what happens behind closed doors.

Like most of us justa, I feel that the Board is putting trust in Flanno to do the right thing for the Dragons. Flanno knows who he wants and by the sound of things he is ensuring that the players to be signed are those that would fit in with the club's ideology and culture as well as being good footballers of course. Whatever the outcome of the next signings, I'm sure that whomever is the new half and whomever is the new middle forward they would have done a lot of homework on them all.

I get the feeling someone is signed for 2026 we need someone to fill the gap for 2025.

Faalogo is exciting but defensively awful ATM. Fullback is best ATM
Sexton I just cant agree
Bellamy is currently finding other positions for him so he can play a lot more 1st grade. I'll go with Bellamy's assessment of Faalogo.
Sexton was a gun junior and like most halves, it takes a while to transfer that to NRL level, if it ever happens a t all. I feel he played well enough to show that he will make it as a very good game managing half back at NRL level.

If Pap stays at the Storm which is very likely now, that is great news for Saints as the chances of getting 1 of Wishart/Pezet or Faalogo increases. If Hunt goes to the Dogs that will be interesting as Burton does most of the kicking. Roosters and Broncos want him at hooker.

If Hunt does not go back to Qld it says more about the person he is after his dummy spits last year about wanting to return to Qld. He now has the chance to go back to the Broncos but is not interested because they want him to play hooker. Maguire will be like Flanno and will be not take his crap and definitely won't be scared to rip into him if he is not performing as he should which is probably the real reason he will not go to the Broncos.

Flanno turned Hunt around so much that Hunt wanted to start negotiations for an extension at Saints after origin and then for Flanno to say we will wait till next season is just pure genius. Flanno got the last say and definitely won that battle of power. Well played Flanno. Love your work. If anyone deserves an extension it will be Flanno if they have a great 2025 and it will be because of this. This was the start of things to come.

Yes, but he did say that at the moment, "Cookie" is his #1 man when it comes to getting an input into recruitment from current players, so you can lock in Ilias Eddie..

Same way he handled Hunt from start to finish.
