Hunt should never have been rewarded with the captaincy of the club in 2021 after Cam McInnes left us. Coach Anthony Griffin gave him that job which was definitely a mate thing.

It still doesn't add up for me.

If the NRL have set his market value at 800K, then how are the Broncos only paying him 550K? The salary cap is provided by the NRL so either they have the room in the cap to pay him 800k or they don't.
Why would they take a hit of 800k but only pay him 550k, it doesn't make sense and smacks of Broncos being provided a privilege lesser clubs like us are never afforded.

The cap is a nominal ceiling. What gets paid is actual cash.
The nominal value is set so that the club and the player can’t collude to form a cheap contract for a star player.

Hunt was the worst captain we’ve had by a country mile. Hated that we had to suffer with it for so long, and just accept articles like that and comments from coaches just like that above.

Ben was not a mood lifter on the field.
Hardly spoke on the field unless he was pointing fingers.
Did not use the challenge rule to our advantage enough.
Flopped under pressure.
All about him first, team second.

So glad that’s done now and yes I realise Ilias is not an upgrade in the halves but I’ll take it if we have an actual captain players want to play for and with.

Dont know mate, I think Stuart was signed up for a few more years not so long ago, hmm a couple of strange comments 1. We are going to struggle next year because we lost our 2 star players, I must have missed being top 4 when they were there. 2. No club wanted to go near SF apart from the Dragons, now they think he's a good mentor and want to sign him up.

Maybe this is SF's manager trying to get the Dragons into extension talks early

Well , if ever the media wished to throw yet another spanner ( or crowbar ) into the revival of the Dragons then that little piece of gossip will surely do the trick .

Season 2025 has not begun and as we are all fully aware of the club has been through the wringer with the Hunt and Lomax sagas , that dragged on for at least 2 years .

Gossip , rumour who gives a damn ,leave the club alone and allow us to rebuild our squad into one that is a semi final contender . We do not need unsubstantiated claims that threaten to derail our season before it has yet begun.

As to that little pipsqueak of a mole who wrote this trash a word of advice - dig yourself a deeper hole and don’t come out until you have something sensible to say !

I hope flanno puts it to bed early. This will tell us how keen flanno is or is it going to develop into another Hunt drama. I think this could be a major event in this year's rebuild being player attitudes etc.
