I live in an islander area.

Relationships and respect are very important facets of the everyday culture.

It’s unspoken but understood.

There is a Samoan guy down the way, he invites people to throw their used and unwanted furniture and junk in his yard. Like a permanent council pick up. But if you respect him, you only chuck things there he can recycle or sell.

At this point, you can only pray.

Given the cattle he had this year, all of the pre-season turbulence and marquee drama and hate….. I think he’s the best coach in the NRL by some distance atm.

If he puts in another “ champagne season” with your roster (still under construction) I’d be surprised if a few of the marquee clubs don’t make an approach.

Benny can’t last forever, a couple of years to drag south’s into the mix again. That’ll be enough for him.

What if Madge lucks out? He’s not a good club coach and they are huge and wealthy?

Robbo might be getting a bit stale and he’s running out of innate talent.

Ricky can’t last forever. He’s had a lot of plans but his sides drop like flies.

If Benji pulls defeat from a 9th placing this year, he’s on the ropes.

Thinking about it, it might be easier to highlight the clubs who don’t need him.

And unlike so many other coaches, we know he just won’t suck up to players.
If they are recalcitrant and get ugly, he sticks their rep jerseys up their backsides and sends them packing.

Very old school values and the game has never needed those more than now. Especially with some of the rabble in the player fleet.
