Rumour has it OT has a hardon for Ryles and is going to be absolutely painful all season every time Parra win a game…
Come on Crush be a bit fair minded.

I posted I was supportive of Ryles coming to us and I copped all manner of criticism and push back as to why my support was illfounded and that I was mad to think he could coach.

Even though it was only a trial by any fair measure the Eels looked good tonight and played an attractive style of footy and looked structured, slick and well drilled.

Not bad for a rookie coach IMO.

I think Ryles has a good opportunity, he has a talented roster, absolutely elite halves pairing, origin players standing out on the flanks and although a couple of forwards short, a decent pack.
Now, it’s pretty clear that you wanted Ryles and not Flanno. That’s fine, you’re entitled to your preferences.
I just get the feeling, having been in this forum for nearly a decade with you, that you are going to be riding the Ryles wave and every time that he wins a game (and he should win plenty) you will be making posts like “looks like Ryles can coach after all”
And that’s fine, I enjoy the banter, but I was just pointing it out early that you have a hardon for Ryles and will be making regular comments about any success he may have.
That’s all.

Who gives a shit about Ryles. Flanno is our coach he has assembled a decent freshen up with the roster considering all the hurdles he has faced and inherited. He handled the Hunt scenario well and got rid of his enormous salary eating the cap space. He developed Lomax from a heart in the mouth centre to a devastating winger. Remember he’s a premiership winner and Ryles is a rookie with a great apprenticeship but then again so was Demetriou. I wish Jason well as I liked him when he was a dragon even though he reminded me of Sharon Woods a bit.. haa

Everybody take a chill pill. If Rylesly goes well, good luck to him, if bunt and slomax go well, good luck to them, if old timer thinks Rylesly can coach, good luck to him..no need to put crap on them, focus on the our positives ( and there are many this season) and back the mighty dragons. we will be more competitive this year and we have a good chance to make eight!!!’go the dragons!!!!

Agreed. All 3 of those blokes have bled for the dragons so good luck to them. Except when they play against us.

Well I think you are barking up the wrong tree there old buddy

Once it is more evident Ryles can coach
all the nay sayers can hoist on their own petard they won’t need me to remind them.

Rumour has it that given we have lost our top prop from an already under strength forward pack we are in for a long hard season!!!!!
Well, we will probably see a lot of Lawrie this year, but he does have experience. So there is that. If we didn't have him, who would fill the Molo gap? Mariner? Masilla?

The annoying thing is we are losìng Molo but can't go into the market for someone else.

Still, the bad luck has to end sometime.

Shame about Molo - whatever his circumstances may be , he had absolutely no right to walk out on his contract with the Dragons .

Bit late now to expect a good prop to take his place, do hope the the NRL will show some sympathy towards the club and make a financial concession .

Whilst not a super star, Molo does have experience and plays a role in the team that leaves a big hole for us to fill. It’s a big ask to throw a developing player like LPT who has a couple of cup games under his belt into firsts, these kids need time to develop.

I hoped that Cake wouldn’t play firsts this year but we will have to play him with the lack of front row depth. The Couchies and Sele have to step up this year if we are to have any chance.

Also, it doesn’t sit right with me that a player can just walk out of a club and leave the rest of his teammates hanging.

Yup its this, when Flanno calls him our best front rower, hes probably reffering to him being our highest paid front rower.. and at his best he did play origin.. hes a workable cog in our prop rotation.. we dont have a replacement for him.. I know we have couchies, but they are no where near that level of battle hardened... and its a very long year for kids.... we are probably going to end up playing Lawrie regularly, and injuries will happen.. hell they have been happening.. Sele, BMM, Fifita, Eisenhuth & Lawrie have been injured (or are still injured) before a ball is kicked.

If Frank goes we need a replacement, but I dont think we can get one now, it'll probably be that we start the season with #29 and try to source one as we go.

Regarding Molo situation, NRL has to tighten the rules. Everybody had a problem and disagreement with a Colleague or two during their working career. With humans this is unavoidable. It happens at every work place. Usually, the parties go to HR and mediation is done.

Now in this case F Molo had a dispute of some sort with another staff and he wants out of the contract! Well there should be penalties if somebody breaks the contract and it goes both ways. Clubs usually offer players that they don't want to other clubs and pay part of their salaries. It should apply to players too. Id a player wants out and wants to break the contract, he should pay part of their salary back (say 20%). I am sure if something like this is entered into contracts a player and his manager will have second thoughts before the start agitating for release.
