I think once Saints get the COE up and running it may attract more players as well as Saints seem to be the only team without a COE. Also if they are looking like a finals contender that should make them a team to be part of. The rubbish talk from Hunt and now Frank Molo plus Lomax leaving 2 years early of 200k less gave saints a bad image. It damaged their brand which is sad and the press allowed it to happen. As a player you would look at the press coming from these 3 and think, geez Saints must be a pretty bad club to join. Players are hanging to leave.

DCE apparently wanted to leave Manly since last year yet we only hear about it now.
Im sorry to disagree here. I actually don't think the coe will be the linchpin, mistake clubs these days have a coe and elite facilities. We are lagging

Coe hasn’t really helped us. We call it the “white elephant”

You’re better to spend time and resources on getting the best people to join the club in the office

People who can identify talent, people who are good at recruitment and retention and of course the salary cap maestros.

And you have to put together some packages to attract them.

Interestingly, I think the squad needs tweaking more than a massive revision.

And fyi the nrl injured count is about 80 at the moment.

And my bug bear, more democracy and accountability at managerial level.

Off topic Lomax out six weeks

One small step for qld, one giant leap for karma-kind.

He won’t be kick boxing and anytime soon either.

I think Zac is cursed myself. He was still talking up his former SGI team-mates on the weekend.

He walked out on the club in its hour of need for less money. Those are his real values, that’s what he stands for.

Someone needs to “break” the news to him that the relationship is over.

I hope he gets well and is not in any pain, but a broken heart never mends Zac.

I really want understand his reaction to the field goal on Saturday.

From what we have heard he didn't want to leave Dragons but by that time it was too late. These are things you just hear.

Obviously he was pumped when he hit the point but was his tearful reaction:

A. Because he somehow proved others wrong and stuck one up us.

Or

B. Because he crushed the hopes of the club he loves?

What are the thoughts on this?

Probably a mix of the above.

If he didn’t want to leave the dragons, I think he could have stayed.

But he wanted to play centre and do his boxing.

And he should have realised that Flanno has a responsibility to the club, team, fans and sponsors etc as a group and he can’t make exceptions.

It’s a bit disrespectful to zacs mates for him to demand special treatment.

Now he wants a kind of forgiveness, turning up to jubilee and words of public kindness.

I think you looked after him really well and he loaded up on self importance.

The other people Zac let down where the hundreds of people behind the scenes, volunteers and all that.

A couple of seasons ago, he was a promising factory player who lacked consistency.

You slogged your guts out changing and improving his game to the point where it became unrecognisably excellent.

So I don’t have any sympathy at all. I don’t wish him any personal harm or rubbish, but as I said, he abandoned you when you needed him the most.

He’s made his bed -he can lie in it.

Apparently Finau Latu to start negotiating with other clubs next week. We really should re-sign this kid i like the look of him and he kills it in cup.
The young bloke has a smart manager who wants to know what other clubs are offering.
The club has looked after him thus far, and for his family to move down to Wollongong you would like to think this will have some sway in what he does next contract.
The invisible is if some club offers him an over the top amount of money, the Dragons may have to let him go.
From what he has said in interviews and Flanagan's view that he is a potential future first grader, our offer should be a very competitive one.
My view is he is a must keep.
