Flanno played hardball last year with JDB and the 12mth extensions (he wanted 2yrs).. at his age I think its good cause it keeps him hungry and motivated to give 100% when ive no doubt training is getting harder and harder for his body.. we might have lost him tbh if not for Jacks history.. other clubs were reluctant to sign him which worked in our favour.

Looking to 2026, and its really still early in the season, who knows how injuries or form change in the next 4 months... but we may have to make decisions between keeping Jack, Klemmer and potentially another not yet signed #30 prop (depends who it is and how long they sign for), so I dunno how many of those guys we need.. also feel like missing Latu has opened another slot up... but that might well be filled by Jett Liu also.

He may not be a marquee prop but, we are not in a position to just throw him away given we do not have an alternate player to play in his place.

Based on his contributions, and injuries pending I think he is worth another 1 year extension. He delivers good value for 40 mins. Depends if he wants to do a UK swansong like JWH. Could probably get a two year, higher value contract over there. Needs to max his earning potential as he won’t get a media career once finished..

Unfortunately his technique is from past generation even though it’s the most effective. Coaches across the game don’t encourage that style due to rule changes; the games the poorer for it imo!

i think it means we can put forward we want him to stay via the terms of the 2026 MO...............which is usually a lower contract $ vs what the player wanted.

but he needs to accept that ........... unless we propose new terms / $

As I chat gpt it the result was he can extend his contract by 1 year at the agreed contract price but must be done by a certain date. If he doesn’t then the club can take up their option which is at a lower dollar amount than if Liddle extended his own option. It finished by saying he cannot negotiate with other clubs until 1 November this year. Hope he stays also.
