The Mutual option means both parties need to agree or its null and void.. essentially means Liddle is free to talk and do whatever the f*** he wants to do... various rumours going around.. but lets hope he stays cause I dont think were gonna find any better, he gives us a bit of stability for 2026.

If he does stay however I imagine we will offer him an upgrade and extension.

Certainly hope so. He’s a great player.

Not only that but I think it really suits him to have someone like Cook who can do say 20mins at the start, then go off and play other positions (which most hookers cant)... and leave 60mins for Liddle.. thats plenty of time..

Having to play 80mins regularly I think will nuke his body over the season... as it has in the past... something Flanno has spoken about.

Yep, he's not an 80 minute hooker as was shown last year. We need to carry cover on the bench and I think the Cook/Liddle combo works well as others have highlighted.

Cody Ramsey and Hamish Stewart in origin camp with blues as extra numbers. How good
I'm just so happy for those boys...especially Ramsay who has been through hell and back, and now just to be acknowledged by allowing him to train with that squad is absolutely wonderful. A Good News story..maybe Dean Young who is assisting coach organised that for them....

Good call on Youngs involvement... I reckon Cody and Douieh will be as much providing some inspiration with their stories... and possibly they want them to emulate Munster/Ponga in opposed sessions... yah but what a moment for Cody, he will be beside himself...

I hope there is no clause in either Cody's or Hamish's contracts that trigger immediate upgrades on the basis that they attend an origin camp as extras ;)
I sure hope Max King's contract has a kicker for a SOO appearance - probably triggers another 3rd party deal from some random pub west of Cobar.

If Lomax has truly embraced that he is a winger now, i think his game will go up a notch and he will be missed by us more than we think..
Its funny cause I was rly happy when he left, and he himself was regretting his decision to leave later in the year.. but it happened.. he was cranky early in the year... and here we are.. he was expensive but even at 700k or so.. I mean youd rather that than 450k for a CT or 500k or a Sloan etc..

I keep waiting for ppl/media to see that Lomax isnt really a winger in the sense he doesnt have great acceleration or finishing acrobatics.. maybe that will become apparent in a close origin game... but his tenacity and effort and fitness seem to be producing a different kind of winger, to the point hes the first picked for NSW origin.. which is crazy to me.. because I dont think hes even in the same stratosphere as Coates or Warbrick and at some point MarkN, its more just that we dont have anyone currently bar maybe To'o... so there isnt a lot of contest.. I also think Kiraz will go past him, but maybe in 12 months time..

The other question is whether his effort/form is sustainable.. but hes done it for 18mths now..

Flanno played hardball last year with JDB and the 12mth extensions (he wanted 2yrs).. at his age I think its good cause it keeps him hungry and motivated to give 100% when ive no doubt training is getting harder and harder for his body.. we might have lost him tbh if not for Jacks history.. other clubs were reluctant to sign him which worked in our favour.

Looking to 2026, and its really still early in the season, who knows how injuries or form change in the next 4 months... but we may have to make decisions between keeping Jack, Klemmer and potentially another not yet signed #30 prop (depends who it is and how long they sign for), so I dunno how many of those guys we need.. also feel like missing Latu has opened another slot up... but that might well be filled by Jett Liu also.
Liu looks a much better prospect then Klemmer, who just launches at the defencive line & doesn't hit the line with fast leg speed. It's like he is trying to bump a brick wall over, rather then run through it.

I hope he stays. He is so good for us. He has never really let us down.
