Everyone keeps going on about our halves. I think the biggest issue is our forwards. Other teams have done well with just above-average halves. I do think we need a 7 with a decent kicking game, though. But our biggest issue is our forwards. I wish he could get Luciano to fire. And land the gun forward; we desperately need it.
I agree about the forwards. Our best forwards are our kids who should still be getting used to the NRL by coming off the bench, not being given big minutes. All the others are at best, bench forwards. We need a massive clean out of the plodders. There is a case for keeping JDB but we need to replace Klemmer, Lawrie, RFM, Luciano, Guler, Sele and BMM.

We are going to run out of troops as the year progresses. I can't help but feel we're at least 1-2 years off being any sort of contender but we're going to be competing with the extra teams for players.
SFlanno is doing his best and I don't buy into the criticism he cops. At the end of the day there's only one winner and the rest are losers. Few remember the yearly also-ran's.

While our young forwards show promise and might turn out to be solid first graders and even better, we struggle to make 35 to 40 metres per set and kick from inside our own half while other teams regularly make 50 to 60 and more and put up an attacking kick from 30 to 40 metres out from our try line and we then have to ruck it out from well inside our 20. As Bennett says (I think), "forwards win matches, backs by how much".

So true Dragosns 4me.

I get the dissapointment and frustration but at the end of the day it is a game of football.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result ie. sacking the coach isn't going to change anything.
For mine the fish rots from the head and that's what needs to change to go forward.
Also remember the NRL is expanding and the player pool is getting spread thinner. In fact it seems that to get ahead devious methods are needed to manipulate the cap and tpa's to recruit the best players.
Add in the fact that the gambling companys are being courted for revenue that many game results defy logic and appear unreal. Even the experts admit to having trouble tipping correctly.

Lastly I get that some people dislike the coach and his son but to monopolise every thread ad Nasum gets a bit boring and is actually detracting from the value of this Forum.

I get for yourself that the coach and his son are a protected species.

After getting smashed by fifty and no upward trajectory in performance or squad qualify at the halfway market for Flanagan's tenure, many of us are right to question the coach and his son's ability.

I've never said you don't have the right to question the coach and his sons ability, but making the point every post and at times .multiple posts on a row becomes boring and you become the "the little boy who cried wolf"

The nature of a forum is people can post whatever they please on any topic, if that upsets you, then you'll have to either develop some coping mechanisms or move on.

It's funny they only seem to reply as soon as you mention Kyle or Flanno. Even the ones that have 'ignored' us. Ignore all the other post but as soon as they are mentioned it's like a fly to shit. Writings on the wall anyway the way things are going he won't be our coach moving forward.

Are you guys related to the Young family in anyway? I believe our progress has definitely improved under Flanno. Prior to Flanno, Griffin and McGregor DID NOT develop and promote our juniors which Flanno IS. Griffin and McGregor could not attract any top line players to the club and Flanno has , all but at the tail end of their careers but he has. Look at the youngsters coming through in Egan, Stewart, Pasifiki Tonga, the Couchman brothers Halangahu and King-Togia and there are plenty more in the reggies. Not since Nathan Browns development of the Morris brothers, Matt Cooper, Ben Creagh, Amos Roberts, Clint Greenshields and Ben Hornby have we as St George Illawarra seen this many juniors developed presently since Nathan Browns tenure. We have to be a little patient with these youngsters to reap the rewards. All the negative sh#t does become monotonous.

Could say the same about a few of you posters. Are most of you related to the Flanagans? Or the same person on multiple accounts? Sounds stupid now doesn't it..
