Hey
@Gardenia
totally understand the frustration here, however, there's a lot more in play than just 'signing' someone.
Firstly, who would sign for us to play the rest of the season, especially in the halves? Yeah, all the talk of KFlan, and let me state quite irrevocably that he isn't a 7, and he's barely a 6. But with Atkinson coming in and the continues education and upskilling of LKT, I think this is where we are tracking to. Further, young Reed is a star, and, without us getting him sighed up soo, other clubs will come sniffing quite aggressively. I doubt a current 1st grader would sign anywhere for a contract lower than 2yrs.
Secondly, we still need, atm, to include Ravalawa for next year. I don't see the Bunnies falling over themselves to offer a contract. It may change but Rava is Rava, diamonds one minute, rocks the next.
Next, what about Cody Ramsay? His form in Cup almost warrants him a top 30 spot next year, and he would be the driving force for our team. Mr Courage personified.
Lastly, with 2 new teams and other squads updating to improve, we have to balance out our juniors coming through. We've lost Latu already, and by accounts, We've also now lost Fitzgibbon from SG Ball squad. Both to the Dogs. JH will also join the top 30 next year, but what about Buchanan (current u19 SOO player, and a real star in the making in Heidke. Now we have to consider NT after such a good debut. There's of course Reed and Jett Liu to throw into the mix as well. Nowadays, you can't simply offer an extended squad contract without some pathway. Or even direct to top 30, as some other clubs may.
Yes, we need forwards, and an Alpha type to boot, but realistically who (unfortunately Haas, I feel will stay at Brisbane)? Young Couchman will come back next year, as will Egan on the edge.
So, do we sign someone else's reject or problem, just to fill our squad, or do we look to securing our future?
