Tom E retired also + Latu + we had 1 free for the Alpha we are yet to land (so should be 27/30 spots filled).

I think we will get thru this June 30 period, see if we can jag a couple of names... if not... we can look at either recruiting from outside the NRL, or upgrading another few juniors.... beyond that it will have to be 2026 signings we go after.

Note: We dont need Sloan to go to sign Cobbo... its just that there might be a chance to offload him pre june 30 also.. failing that we would try for end of year (assuming hes up for it). Cobbo would give us the fullback injury cover that we need Sloan for atm

Yeah we need to fill 3 spots, not 1 as some may think.
Cobbo maybe 1 of those, leave a spot for a prop and a half back, if that's what people desire.

However, I think we'll promote from within regarding forwards, ie NT is off contract, JH, had a blinder in the SOO u/19's, and i know he's earmarked for next year but why not now. There's also JL who is also off contract i believe. I don't believe we are seriously chasing a half at this stage.

My why is why isn't there more talk of props and better halves going on in the rumour mill? There should be more said by the club about what their aim is with regard to these positions. Flanno knows that these are the positions where we are not functioning properly in and what I want is for them to say that they are dead set actively looking at all possibilities here and abroad and no need to name anyone but actually say they are doing their utmost best to do something about this long drawn out problem. We know little as to what their aims are and this is what frustrates us - well me anyway.
My hope is that while they try and sign Cobbo, they are also looking at bolstering our middles and halves. Can't see we it has to be one or the other ...... go all 3, I say....

We need to seriously get rid of some dead wood before we take on the possibility of another one. Rava, Lawrie, Sloan, Kyle, Ilias just to mention a few. 18 months yes I’d take him.
2025
1. Cobbo
2. CT
3. Nick T
4. Holmes
5. Lawson
6. Gutherson
7. Glover
8. Klemmer
9. Cook
10. Tomga - big
11. Suli
12. Su'A
13. De Belin

14. Liddle
15. Stewart
16. Fifita - big
17. Leilua

So we can fit Cobbo in right now. We have a top 30 spot and plenty of cap space to fit him in. He could play at 1, 3, 5, or 6.

Looking unlikely he will come tbh

Sloan given permission to talk to other clubs thank God can only live off that potential tag for so long Cobbo would be a good signing if it happens.

Anyway anyone saying Sloan over Rava are surely kidding themselves both are error prone but at least Rava puts his body on the line and if I was an opposing winger I know I sure as hell wouldn't want the task of tackling Rava he is almost unstoppable close to the try line whereas Sloane either drops it or gets ragdolled ok very the sideline.
