This year is like all our other past 14 years going back to 2012. The club is seemingly going about doing things as if by magic there will be a great team that will win us grand finals many times over without them having to do much work when in reality we will be staring down the barrel of another wasted year. From year to year we end up with jack shit. What in blazes are they doing? Obviously there are some people that aren't able to do their jobs properly and us fans get frustrated with the lack of any progress in getting the players we desperately need to improve.

The younger ones show promise but they just are not ready and to me there isn't anyone capable of developing them the way that the need to be. Willie Talau is the only positive thing the club has going for it at the moment as a person who players would be looking up to.

June 30 is nearing and nobody is coming by the looks of thing.

The Dogs will most probably land Da Silva to be with his mate Galvin with Mahoney on the outer. See how they plan and that is how you do it.

We seem incapable to do anything that is different to what we have been doing. Change the way things are done for heavens sake.

I think you are all assuming the CEO will have a say running the football department..I don't think this will be the case, he will be an executive CEO tasked with the administration side of the club including corporate governance and revenue...I fear he will have very little influence on the football side of things..

CEO needs to be across all departments but not our club.

I get the feeling the BOD at Dragons have said to Flanno " u not only Coach but head the recruitment as well "
With the exception of Val n Gutho the Flanno way is get the bargain players or go in low balling the high profile ones ..just to say we made an approach..Possibly why a lot of Managers dont like dealing with him.
Last nite on 360 it was mentioned we were virtually out of the race for Cobbo due to a "low ball offer "
Some of the recruitment has been puzzling at best , with signs of desperation..
Damien Cook , for example....A veteran who didnt want to leave the Bunnies , and we already had the hooking role covered with Liddle and Kyle as back up was brought in .
Then on the push from Cook we sign Illias .....
The pursuit of Cobbo again smacks of desperation with little thought process
The dominos would fall everywhere if he were to join the Club
He goes to 1 where does Gutho play...6 ?
We desperately need a Prop and a Half who can get us around the park and have a decent kicking game
The issues with KF have been well documented and HE ISNT the answer
Leilua kicks further than him ffs
We are a Club in total disarray re recruitment ..Unless a complete clean out , similar to the Dogs , is under taken as a matter of urgency , we will continue to implode at an alarming rate

Becoming increasingly unlikey to get a mid year transfer now with 5 days to go.
For all we know the deal may be close or even already completed. So getting Cobbo may be the easy part. Moving on Sloan, Rava, and others still under contract maybe more difficult.

Cobbo is a great player who can cover many positions. He is young, fast and reliable in defense. If we put forward a low offer, that may be the case, as the Cowboys' offer was even lower.

Now is the time to up our offer and secure the recruitment of Cobbo. As a fullback or five-eighth in 2025. In 2026 probably 1, 2, or 4 with Suli moving to the edge.

Cobbo's headspace is not good at the moment possm and he is showing signs of being depressed and it's been reported that he could give league away. We don't want a player who might get really upset if he is told off for instance and say "I want to go home".

We want a player who will give it his all no matter whar the circumstances and tough it out. We already have enough of the sooks at the club.

Forget about Cobbo. We can't reach agreement with him and his manager on terms and conditions anyway.

Hunt, Lomax and Molo were fun to deal with

Same with Sullivan and Amone and Rava

Sloan still could be that player in a good team and or a season or two from now

Its been a ride hasnt it !!!! Some tough indvs to work with which is sad because we seem to have great collection of serious emerging players and some great experienced ones helping that journey

Cobbo i think is worth the risk.........but only at what we see as value vs a few other options. His value if he doesnt turn the corner we will be stuck with in the cap - which could really hurt

2 years with a MO ?

Some people might disagree with me here... but if im being honest, I think the Kyle flanagan is getting overhated, now some might say "You must not watch the games" I believe that yes kyle hasn't been great this year, but keep in mind he came into the comp as a 5/8th, I think its tough on him to do a job hes not 100% qualified for, I believe its the dragons as a whole to blame, I think the fact they didnt want to buy a halfback that was in decent form

Kyle Flannigan is a half back and has been for years, he was moved to 5/8 by his old man. Like Sloane Kyle has had enough games to show us what he could do and it's not good enough.
It's time to let Ilius pay along side Tonga and see what he can do..

Just to add to that message I sent, there is no doubt that Kyle needs to improve I get where people are coming from, but it seems like we are all blaming him for a job that he was clearly put on the spot to play, hes not a halfback we can all agree on that, but for people to go out of their way to simply put the blame on a young 26yr old bloke thats playing a different kicking role is completely unfair, now people are entitled to there own opinions I get that, but Kyle has probably been one of our better players when he had the ball in hes hands, hes a running player who can grubber kick, hes like jarome luai but just a little less talented, people bagged Luia when he went to halfback because he wasnt playing the best. Thats simply because he's not a halfback, just like Kyle, so I think we actually need to get around Kyle instead of bag him, because bagging a player whos taking the reins and being the on field kicking leader isnt necessarily going to help him get any better, but if you credit him and actually back him just for the end of the year then you might actually see that hes getting better each week he puts those boots on. I respect kyle, I think hes been given way to much rubbish. yes we know hes not a halfback, yes we know hes struggling, yes we know hes kicking isn't as good as other halfbacks, but hes putting hes heart into the jersey, everytime he scores points at the logo on the jersey, I think he deserves some sort of respect for stepping into a role that takes a whole nother level. I really hope to see him grow as a player, because hes got a heart, hes got a passion for the game he plays, and he plays with pride, just give him some time, and if the experiment fails, it fails. Just put trust into him, he need support, hes a 26 year old who has feelings as well as everyone. hoping he has a cracker of a game this week because hes trying hes heart out.

but we bagged ilias? so its one or the other, maybe its time we just put some faith in kyle, hes young. Like I said people are entitled to their own opinion but I believe that you need to back your players and not try and hurt them by saying hateful comments, no this isnt directed to anyone here but I hope you can see where I am coming from.

I thought when Ilias was playing in the halves 6 games later this site was never going to recover

found a new punching bag

1 player vs 17 players that have almost worst defence in the comp

Dean Young hasnt been mentioned in one article in the media which if it was College Football or NFL the knives would be out for the defensive coach and run out of town

There is no mono solution

It is a web of changes that need to take place to ice those close games we stuffed up

and even worse we are now into a patch of very tough games for any half at the Dragons

Could it be the board have let Flanagan recruit his way so if it turns to poo they can say nothing to do with us it’s what the coach demanded.
